FAQs about hotels in Dubrovnik

The Pearl of the Adriatic

A medieval beauty full of magnificence and glory, Dubrovnik is surrounded by white stone walls. Located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, this masterpiece is one of the most promising tourist destinations.

Passing through the imposing stone gate of Pile Gate, you will find yourself immersed in history. Take a walk in the narrow streets of this charming city, enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the colourful cafés, or order fresh fish in one of the outdoor restaurants.

Surrounded by turquoise waters, Dubrovnik Old Town sights include the picturesque Stradun, Onofrio fountain and the Franciscan monastery.

The city’s cable car will take you up to Mount Srd from where you can savour panoramic views over the treasures of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Buses connect Dubrovnik Airport with the city centre, and Booking.com offers a variety of hotels, apartments, and guest houses throughout.

The City Walls walk is a must, despite the high price (€35).

The City Walls walk is a must, despite the high price (€35). It's worth buying a Dubrovnik Pass, which includes travel and various museums, for the same price as the City Walls walk alone. Nearby Peppers restaurant was excellent. Zamagna Pizzeria was also very good. We wanted to visit Lokrum Island, but the sea was too rough. So we took a 3-island tour, curtailed to 2 by the thunderstorms. The sea was rough but we survived. On Lopud Island, we took a buggy ride to Šunj beach on the other side of the island, where I happily swam in the crashing waves, back to the boat just before the heavens opened.

Very interesting old town with lots of history.

Very interesting old town with lots of history. Stunning view of the coast and fortresses from walking the walls. Many swimming areas with crystal clear water. Great seafood, lots of gelato, pastries, and souvenirs with boat tours to Elaphiti islands. The downside is that the roads are very small. The street leading to old town is walkable but not very pedestrian-friendly. Cars zoom past very close to pedestrians on the sidewalk.

The city is very beautiful and the sceneries are amazing. Though it's too crowded and the restaurants and tickets to different places are quite expensive. For the bus there is an app you can download that shows the different buses which is quite accurate. There are many nice tours and day trips you can do

Dubrovnik is an amazing destination for both individual, family, and friends trips due to the impressive architecture (fortress and white marble streets, sea port) and rich history! The beaches are wonderful. I definitely recommend to visit Old Town and port, and to swim in the sea (Lapad beach, Sunset beach, Valamar hotel beaches at Babin Kuk are great and highly recommended!). Food is great, I strongly reccomend sea food in Barna (name of the cafes) - very tasty and reasonable price, located also in the Old Town!!! Generally, it is quite an expensive resort, so it is good for the vacation combining sightseeing and beach rest!

Nothing more could be added to what has already been said about the apartment: 5 star +. The inclusion of a couple of sun lounges would have been nice though as a few hours in the day were spent enjoying the superb vista. For us, the best way to Dubrovnik Old Town was via the steps on `PUT OD BOSANKE` - just across from the taxi rank at the entrance to the town. After every 2nd step there`s a 2mtr long flat part that allows you to take a breather.....or to step aside for younger ones to overtake!

I really love this part of Dubrovnik. The hotel complex offers you a kind of isolation from the hustle and bustle of the old town. I love the large reception area, lovely and modern rooms with soft carpets and lovely bathrooms. I like the excellent food they serve for regular meals. I like restaurants by the sea and interestingly used rocks that have been turned into a beach. I love the smell of flowers that you can smell while walking on the promenade. We are happy to return to the Royal.

Everything was perfect. First they help us to organise our transfer from the airport to the hotel, taxi + water taxi (our taxi driver was a very nice man and we had a good chat about Dubrovnik during our way). The hotel is very organised and clean. All the staff are very friendly, in the restaurant and also in the bars. The all inclusive drinks and food are excellent. Great variety of food and drinks available in the all inclusive package. The location is stunning, we love it!

It is not my first time in Rixos and I am always coming back. This hotel is located very close to city centre and you can reach old town of Dubrovnik by foot within 15 minutes of refreshing walk and meanwhile witnessing beautiful views but the best in this hotel is SPA and staff…that is why I always come back.
