Extremely welcoming, helpful, and friendly staff. For a hotel of this size, the breakfast was outstanding – great selection and very tasty. Reserved free parking is a big plus. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Also, the price was very fair. We will definitely return.

Zagreb's downtown area contains a lot of history and old and new sites. It is still rebuilding much since the 2020 earthquake. As a family we found plenty of interest in the town centre and backstreet to fill our 5 days before journeying into the rest of Croatia. This included a very enjoyable day trip into Slovenia. So accessible in all aspects.

Zagreb is a beautiful city. It has green areas. The public transport is accessible and cheap. The people are nice and helpful. There are a lot of choices of restaurant to go. Tea is not widely served but they have coffee in restaurants. You can just walk around the city or take the tram or a bus. It is just a shame I was not able to see most of Zagreb as there are many places to go but probably next time.

A visit to the zoo was a real nightmare – long lines to pay for parking and even longer ones to buy tickets. There were at least 100 people in front of us, and only one ticket counter was open. Online ticket purchase wasn’t available. Avoid visiting the zoo on public holidays!
On the other hand, I highly recommend a visit to Lake Jarun to calm your nerves and enjoy some peace and natural beauty. It’s a truly lovely part of Zagreb – definitely worth a visit.

The centre of town is underwhelming, with several restructuring works on many buildings. This made the centre unattractive. However the area of the botanical gardens, the opera house and the art pavilion were very pleasant. Given a couple of years for the works on the facades of many buildings to be completed, Zagreb will definitely be worth a second visit.
The highlight of our journey was a daytrip to Rostoke and Plitvice lakes, a beautiful nature reserve out of the centre of Zagreb, definitely recommend a visit. Good hiking shoes recommended, the walk can take up to 4 hours.
