Mamula Island is such a unique experience!!! I’ve never seen or stayed anywhere like it. 10 out of 10 is not high enough for once you step foot on this beautiful island!!!! It is luxury on another level. The rooms are amazing and the little touches from a tote bag to use during your stay to the sleep spray left on your pillow. There’s so many more too long to list. The staff are all so friendly and attentive. Cannot fault this hotel. Would highly recommend and cannot wait to return.

Really nice hotel. We were staying off season at the end of October — the price was reasonable and there wasn't many people around, we had a great time.
Rooms look freshly renovated. Breakfast is great. Beach club is amazing. Spa zone is pretty small, but clean and stylish. Great pool and sauna.
But I recommend to spend a few extra bucks on a room with a balcony. Standard room without a balcony is kinda small.
The small 4-star family Boutique Hotel Capitano is situated in the historic centre of the small coastal town Kamenari, in the heart of Bay of Kotor.

We loved the hospitality we felt from everyone at the hotel. The food is wonderful (special mention to the ceviche!) We felt like we were entering an oasis as soon as we passed the entrance to the hotel, where you can breathe tranquility and harmony.
Lovely bed and great decor as well!!

Can't recommend this hotel enough. Stunning views, large room, value for money, location with access to nearby beach and short walk from restaurants, helpful staff, great facilities! We booked last minute because my partner and I just needed a few days' break with some sun. The hotel was just what we needed and the local area was stunning and the town lovely to wander around. We didn't venture far and didn't need to!

Herceg Novi is a charming, quiet town with a lovely old town atmosphere. The pedestrian walkways offer a peaceful stroll without traffic, and the town's historic character adds to its appeal. However, while walking along the coast and beaches, there is often an unpleasant sewage smell that can detract from the otherwise picturesque setting. Additionally, a few ruins, likely remnants of the former political system, do spoil the general impression a bit. That said, I believe the people of Herceg Novi will restore and beautify these areas in time, and the town has great potential.

Beautiful little town on the Adriatic Coast, plenty of old buildings to see with stunning views of the Boka Bay. Wear comfortable shoes if you're visiting Old Town, Herceg Novi is the town of many steps, but the view from the top is totally worth it! Buses are sparse if you're visiting other villages, but you should definitely visit the exclusive Portonovi Resort in Kumbor that is a few miles away. If you're on the budget, go later in September/October, it's cheaper as out of season but still fairly warm. Dubrovnik airport is only half an hour away in a taxi

Beautiful resort, very clean and a great old town which we preferred to Kotor. Very reasonable prices. I would recommend this above the other holiday resorts.
We did a great wine tasting evening booked on 'Get your guide' wine tasting in Herceg Novi. We had a great evening. If you are going to walk as we did, be aware that it is a seriously steep route. Definitely worth it

A small, cute seaside town.
A small, cute seaside town. Great for short stays as you can visit all the interesting spots in a few days. Amazing air and sea. Not a lot of people.
Good places to grab a bite: Kantina65, Bife Beograd (full courses), Kafeterija (coffee), Tri Lipe (rostilj and sandwiches), Moritz Eis (the tastiest ice cream/gelato ever).
I wouldn't recommend to eat at Galija - the staff is at best indifferent, and the cutlery is barely washed, we had to sterilize ours with vinegar as it was visibly unclean. Feels like you play a lottery with food poisoning.
Also wouldn't recommend the numerous tours to Blue Cave, Zanjice and other locations (unless private). The ferries are very crowded with constant on- and offloading of passengers on different stops, the tours are more like simple routes between several points and largely uninvolved, the exhaust smells especially at the Blue Cave where there is no way for the fumes to go out. Zanjice beach is absolutely not recommended as a place to visit and relax, as it's extremely crowded with numerous loud and unsanitary seaside cafes.

Herceg-Novi (go there by water taxi from Rose) is ok, nothing particularly special with its many tourist shops and crowded beaches. Rose is far superior for an authentic feeling Montenegrin experience.
Although Rose has limited eateries and a tiny shop so if you don’t have a car, you’re a bit limited for choice.
The restaurants in Rose are all fairly mediocre.

We loved our stay. Apartment is very, very clean, furniture is new with all you need for perfect holiday. Supermarket and beach is very close. Biljana give us advices about where to go and what to see, not just in Herceg Novi but in all Montenegro. We liked very much restaurant Holiday lounge bar which is located 3 minutes with car from apartment. We will be guest in this apartment again for sure.
Big apartment with a great view from the balcony. The bed was comfortable and air con worked well.
The host was lovely and organised our taxi from Dubrovnik airport, then also dropped us at the bus station when we left (much appreciated with our suitcase and the many stairs in Herceg Novi).
