For us, Saloniki is the ideal transition day or weekend when we travel from Northern Europe to our final destination further in the south of Greece. Sitting in one of the many outdoor cafés on the Paralia and just watching the hustle & bustle and the beautiful people of Saloniki is a great way to start a holiday. We always visit Public and the shopping malls around it for great deals on brands like Brooks Brothers, GANT and more. Excelsior Hotel is always a treat. Great value for money is found at Maroon Bottle Suites. Getting around the main city on foot is no problem. If you have a rental car it's good to find an underground garage beforehand - can recommend Parking Plateia Vasileos Irakleiou 38.

Thessaloniki, often referred to affectionately as “my...
Thessaloniki, often referred to affectionately as “my village” by its locals, offers a captivating blend of history, culture, and culinary delights. At the heart of its vibrant city life is the Kapani Market, an emblematic and bustling bazaar that seems to transport visitors back in time. Strolling through Kapani, you are engulfed by a fascinating vibe, surrounded by the enticing aromas of fresh produce, spices, and traditional Greek foods. The market pulses with the energy of vendors and shoppers, each contributing to the lively and authentic atmosphere that defines this historic trading spot.
Just a short walk from the market, nestled among the quaint and narrow streets, is Negroponte, arguably the best taverna in Thessaloniki. Known for more than just its exceptional seafood, Negroponte prides itself on homemade bread and a menu that showcases the best of Greek cuisine. Each dish is prepared with care, using locally-sourced ingredients that reflect the culinary richness of the region.
Thessaloniki’s small streets add to its charming and buzzing atmosphere, each turn and corner offering a new sight, sound, or taste. The city’s layout encourages leisurely exploration, with surprises waiting around every corner. Whether it’s a hidden café, a boutique shop, or a street performer, there’s always something to capture your attention and make you feel a deep connection to this vibrant, historical city. Thessaloniki, with its rich past and dynamic present, remains a beloved “village” not just to its residents, but to all who visit.

The room was changed and didn't come with extra double bed.
The room was changed and didn't come with extra double bed. However the host was a lovely guy and took the initiative to accommodate the sofa as if it was a double bed. We did not have wifi for the last 24 hrs
This made it difficult for me to communicate with my family. I had to go to buy a coffee outside for such service.
The rest of things were good. I liked the room, it was big and spacious. As long as I have wifi, I will go again for the same room
Thanks

What a wonderful city.
What a wonderful city. My family and I were only there one night as we were making our way by bus to Istanbul, but from what we say of downtown, it's a beautiful, safe, and vibrant place to visit. We had the most delicious dinner, went for a lovely walk down by the water, and had dessert at a super-fancy bakery somewhere downtown. We also really enjoyed the friendly (and FAT) street dogs!

Very interesting city with places related to Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman history; many UNESCO World Heritage objects, afternoon atmosphere in the squares and streets of the city. Good starting point to visit Kalambaka, Veroia with Vergina, Kavala with Philippi...
This is a brand new hotel open and taking name from some famous restaurant (Olympos Naoussa, hence ON in the name, I guess). That restaurant is there, downstairs, another bonus. The best, apart quality, is the location. Next and within walking distance to everything worth seeing in Thessaloniki (at least for the first visit). Very good and helpful staff, excellent breakfast. My room was next to elevator, which usually is not a good sign, but this one absolutely silent. In short a great, new hotel in the very (old) city center and port.
We really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Luxembourg. Room was very comfy and clean and the location was excellent - it is in city center, near restaurants, bars, shops. Even though hotel doesn't have parking, the good thing it's that there are three parking lots only 1 min from the hotel. Also, the staff helped us in that direction, finding parking spot and explaining all needed information. I personally will stay again in Hotel Luxembourg when I visit Thessaloniki and I recommend the hotel to other visitors.
We had a pleasant stay at Anessis Hotel. It was not our first time here. Rooms were renovated in the past few years (new bathrooms, etc).
Very good location in the city center, just few minutes walk to Vardaris. Nice breakfast and 2 free parking spots right in front of the hotel. That is a big deal in the center of the city.
Excellent value for money if you're looking for one or two nights stay in Thessaloniki. Very nice and welcoming staff, 24h reception, great job guys!
The staff were some of the most lovely people I’ve met at a hotel. They were so warm and welcoming and their restaurant recommendations for dinner were great!! Thank you to all of the staff from front desk to the great people serving breakfast! You’re the best! The rooms were pretty nice too! Clean, comfortable and everything I need. The location was perfect - walking distance to everything. I would happily stay here again if I am ever lucky enough to return to Thessaloniki!
1. The location and the view were great! Much better that from any 5* hotels in Thessaloniki
2. The apartments were furnished and designed not worse than the 5* hotels. It was very expensive and modern design
3. The lobby entrance was nice, the elevators were new
4. The mattress, bathrooms were very comfortable
5. The apartment manager waited us until 2.00 a.m. and was very kind
The room was new and with really nice modern furniture. The location of the hotel was really good, close to all the main sights in Thessaloniki, including bars, restaurants and shops. Staff were polite, nice and available. Breakfast was both sweet and savory with plenty of food options. I extremely liked the restaurant within the hotel which offered good food for a good price.
It is in the center and if you want to stay in center is really nice. The apartment is new, nice, clean, comfortable with a lot amenities. We ussually go in hotels in Thessaloniki, but now with small baby we needed more space and that criteria was met. I liked Netflix account and we have watched series when the baby was sleeping, there is small kitchen and helps with the baby.
The room is absolutely beautiful and clean. At the city center of Thessaloniki, only 5mins walk from Aristotelous Square and the area looks like you are not in the city center. There are options next to the hotel to have a drink or restaurants. Last but not least the breakfast is delicious and the staff is very pleasant, friendly and always ready to help.
Brand new hotel. Room was clean and very comfortable, the towels and sheets were snow white and soft. The breakfast was super and you can have it whenever you like during the day. The staff was super helpful and polite. They have free parking in front of the hotel. Short walking distance from city center. The best hotel I have stayed in Thessaloniki so far.
We really liked the location of the hotel because it is near the city center. The beds were very comfortable and it was clean in the whole apartment. The coffee machine was a great advantage for us. We also had great communication with the owners of the hotel. When we go to Thessaloniki again, we will certainly stay at this hotel again.
The hotel is perfect for getting around due to great location no frills accommodation we wee 2 60 plussers well travelled and quite fit the beds were really low so may be an issue if you are not fit. All in all a really cheap hotel in the middle of the hotspots in Thessaloniki
Staff really helpful and friendly
Impeccable Cleanliness and Maintenance: "Rooms were spotless and spacious. The hotel's cleanliness surpassed my expectations. Katherine did an exceptional service, even giving us some city attraction tips.. I highly recommend this hotel on your next trip to Thessaloniki
We were greeted warmly by the staff when we arrived. Hotel is clean and nicely decorated. Fast, easy check-in. Good location for walking the old town part of Thessaloniki, and along the promenade. Wonderful selection at breakfast buffet. All in all a great stay!
Hotel location is perfect. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Additionally, they left some gifts for my son (shampoo, conditioner, slipper) to our room. If i come to thessaloniki again, i stay electra palace.
5 stars for a 3star hotel. Seeing some of the reviews, I was not sure it is worth it, but it exceeded my expectations. Clean, good breakfast, walking distance from town. Would come back and would definitely recommend
Amazing hotel with great landscape and wide garden. Away from the hustle of the city but close to be in the city.. Enjoyed it much more than other 5 star hotel that is inside the city..
