I liked:
I liked:
The traditional house architecture that has been somehow preserved and gives a unique character to the entire village.
The streams and creeks inside and around the village.
The main square with the beautiful large platanus-sycamore trees.
The views of the Pagasitikos bay from the village.
The view of the thickly wooded forests of chestnuts and walnuts.
Portaria and Makrynitsa and Pelion in general are close to what my idea of paradise is!

It is a very small village on the top of a mountain near Volos.Ok, the view is very nice especially during night, but You need to climb the mounting by car and you need 30-40 minutes for 9 km.When you arrive there, you will find many hotels, 8-10 restaurants, 3-4 souvenir shop, one petrol station, one pharmacy and nothing else.

All villages from Pelion are extremely interesting and with a local air. The view is just unbelievable. A great rustic experience which a real urban, busy traveler must have. The food, the nature, the panorama, every and each place are just mind blowing. Pelion is not the tourist oriented place, but this makes it even more desirable. So, if you choose Greece and you might need some peace of soul, this is the place.

We stayed at gastronomy hotel Kritsa in front of a 1000 years old Plane tree. The hotel shares a big yard together with 2-3 other small hotels covered by huge Plane trees. It's a magnificent place .
Everything was outstanding: the great location, the fabulously view, the clean and beautiful room, prepared with lots of attention to every single detail, the tasty breakfast and especially the nicest ladies on the reception, who were ready to help us in every question and problem. We enjoyed very much and will definitely return to Erofili Hotel in our next visit.
A wonderful team of hotel staff that catered for every need with real warmth and professionalism, including Efi, Chrisa, Claountio & Vaio. The atmosphere of the adjoining hotel facilities was superb, located in the heart of the township and with delightful views. We have no hesitation to recommend Erofili’s home for your next stay in Portaria.
Nice place for stay on our travel adventure to a Skopelos island. Quiet, on the beautiful square, just the perfect spot to relax on our way. There is a few nice restaurants just in front of the hotel with good food and music. Portaria is a right place to visit if you travel to Sporades, or just exploring Pelion.

What an amazing view. What an amazing host
The house is beautifully appointed, and the little details are terrific.
The location is also perfect - close enough to go down to Volos, and close enough to go to Portaria or over to the other side of Pelion
Amazing chance to connect with nature, pick your own vegis and eggs for breakfast, many fruit trees and farm animals. The rooms are clean and new with all you need for cooking and by driving 3 minutes you arrive to portaria foot reatuarants etc.
The house was equipped with everything and I really mean everything we could possibly need!
Very clean and the owner was very polite and helpful. The location is perfect to go everywhere by foot in Portaria village. Highly recommended 👌
