I liked:
I liked:
The traditional house architecture that has been somehow preserved and gives a unique character to the entire village.
The streams and creeks inside and around the village.
The main square with the beautiful large platanus-sycamore trees.
The views of the Pagasitikos bay from the village.
The view of the thickly wooded forests of chestnuts and walnuts.
Portaria and Makrynitsa and Pelion in general are close to what my idea of paradise is!

It is a very small village on the top of a mountain near Volos.Ok, the view is very nice especially during night, but You need to climb the mounting by car and you need 30-40 minutes for 9 km.When you arrive there, you will find many hotels, 8-10 restaurants, 3-4 souvenir shop, one petrol station, one pharmacy and nothing else.

All villages from Pelion are extremely interesting and with a local air. The view is just unbelievable. A great rustic experience which a real urban, busy traveler must have. The food, the nature, the panorama, every and each place are just mind blowing. Pelion is not the tourist oriented place, but this makes it even more desirable. So, if you choose Greece and you might need some peace of soul, this is the place.

We stayed at gastronomy hotel Kritsa in front of a 1000 years old Plane tree. The hotel shares a big yard together with 2-3 other small hotels covered by huge Plane trees. It's a magnificent place .
A very nice hotel in Portaria/Pelion, modern renovated and designed, very clean and well-organized, with nice facilities, and very close to the center of Pelion. The breakfast was delicious and the pool was clean and with many sunbeds to relax on. All hotel's staff was very nice and helpful. Especially, many thanks to the manager of the Hotel Mr. Tilemaxos for all the helpful hints and tips that he provided to us during our stay there. We are going to visit Despotiko again!
I can highly recommend this place!
Very kind staff, nice and cosy place with great view and yard. Amazing breakfast with many choices in a nice and very cosy area next to the fireplace. The main square is next to the hotel, where you'll find taverns, cafes, bars, mini market and kiosk. The village is beautiful with stone walks and creeks and you have an phenomenal view over the bay and the sea.
Exceptional evening meal with better than average quality house wine and breakfast with huge selection of home made delights served in beautiful dining room full of period charm and a welcoming fire on a cold March day on the foothills of Mount Pelion.
Nice balcony overlooking the Platia with ancient Plane Trees and fairy lights.
Excellent location, near the village centre, 15 minutes from Volos. Traditional hotel, with good parking. The staff was obviously overworked and unhappy, but they were overall helpful and polite (looming over the breakfast plates to collect them should be avoided, but I suspect this is management policy).
Stayed there for a couple of days. Hotel is close to the center of Portaria.
Really clean & cozy rooms and facilities, and the staff really kind and helpful.
The spa services, food and breakfast were also great, highly recommend it to try them all. Would definitely stay there again!
Everything! Staff exceptional, very kind. Amazing breakfast. Perfect swimming pool. Splendid room, clean and spacious. Magnific view from the hotel. Very quiet and from restaurant. I would recommend this hotel strongly.
Also the manager Tilemachos Voistsi was helpful for anything.
Hospitable staff, spacious room, amenities, both shower and bathtub to suit your needs. Swimming pool in good condition. High quality of crib mattress. Breakfast has a variety of options, most of them delicious. Close to the center and other interesting sites.
I was upgraded to the luxury suite that had a balcony with panoramic view. The hotel is very elegant
and in the best location in Portaria. The staff was very friendly. Altogether it was a great experience.
The worst service ever. No A/C in 2021 for a 3star acommodation, this is not acceptable. In the booking platform it is not written anywhere that there is no A/C. Very poor breakfast
Very Nice hotel with a very comfortable room. Nice bathroom. A good central location for visiting Portaria and Makrinitsa. You need a car, but it's a short, easy drive.
Friendly staff willing to guide you throughout your stay in Pelion.
Super cozy (it will be perfect for winter vacation)
Perfect location in the heart of Portaria.
We have stayed at this hotel three times now and each time we are very satisfied. Very kind hostess, great place and breakfast. I recommend and will use it again.
