Papigko is a beautiful village, cobbled streets with quaint shops, bars and restaurants and stunning views of surrounding mountains. The only disappointment was that it seems in mid-September many bars and restaurants seem to close for at least a week break (some maybe a little longer). We were informed it was a break before the autumn/winter season starts. However there was still some places to eat and drink so all was ok. Lots a walking trails around for keen hikers. Well worth a visit to this Village, you would not be disappointed.

we visited during summer and it was the busiest village of Zagoria which made it more socializing than others. Also it has cute coffee shops and
tavernas almost every corner. It also has access to multiple good hiking routes as well as springs and lake so you dont have to travel far to access hiking paths if you are short in time or dont want to do another adventurous car ride up in the mountain.

There are tons of things to do in and around Papigko.
There are tons of things to do in and around Papigko. From the walks around the picturesque village, to exploring the culinary experiences on offer, to the serene hikes and the Papigko rock pools. Before reaching Papigko, be sure to stop on the banks of the Boithomatis river and have a dip in the cold waters on a hot summer's day. The place is equally as breathtaking in the winter as it is in the summer. The air is clean it almost has a taste to it from all the lovely flora and fauna. Don't miss out, go there and you will find welcoming locals and memories to last you a lifetime.

When you are at Papigko, you should visit Ovries, the local summer natural complex of small pools between Mikro and Megalo Papigko. Mikro Papigko for its nice view from to of the mountain and for hiking to Drakolimni. River Voidomatis for rafting is another location to visit.
Location was good at the entrance to Papigo. The Villa is super nice and super clean. Beds were just wonderful!! The host is very kind and responsive. There was no breakfast and we didn’t know that in advance and there was no place to buy ingredients when we figured this out. We had issue with one of the toilet rooms so we couldn’t use it. Nevertheless there were 3 in total so it wasn’t a big issue. Some basic ingredients were missing like salt. Otherwise we enjoyed the stay and have many memories from our stay. Many thanks!!
Very cosy and comfortable hotel conveniently located at the start of Papingo.
Ilias and Elena are both very hospitable, friendly and helpful, gave lots of advice on where to hike and what to see in the area and they make excellent coffee and food in the cafe at the front.
The rooms are a great size with comfortable beds and spacious clean bathrooms, with lots of natural light as well.
This is easily one of the best places to stay in the area and a perfect base for heading into the Zagori mountains.
Morfeas guesthouse was an amazing place to stay! The rooms were confortable and clean and the decoration was nice following the traditional standards. The warm welcome combined with the history of the building from the owner, Giota, as Morfeas used to be the house of Giota's family, and the great breakfast provided with many local products, made our trip unforgettable. We highly recommend Morfeas guesthouse to all future travellers to beautiful Papigo and we would definitely return!!!
Morfeas guest house has a special History, Giota, the lady who runs this small hotel, grows a beautiful vegetable garden, makes her own wine and bread and fix a delightful breakfast. Our room was tidy and perfectly clean. Very simple but unic. The village of Papigko is the most beautiful villages of Zaguria, and it is a very good point for trekking.
we truly recommend staying with Giota, and once in the area, I’m sure we’ll come back.
Amazng place! Perfect for families. I stayed here with my husband and 1.5 year old - it was absolutely perfect. The rooms were lovely, clean and spacious; the staff delightful; and the view from the hotel is beyond gorgeous. Plus, there is a great restaurant on the premises (breakfast included is amazing!!) which was convenient for us when we wanted a relaxed evening with our tired kid. To sum up, this place is a gem!
The best place we stayed in during our 2 week holiday, (we moved around a lot). More intimate than the photos suggest. The hotel, indeed the whole village was very empty and we were kindly given what would have been a more expensive room with a balcony overlooking the village. Lovely outdoor eating area shaded by grape vines. Can’t recommend Kalliopi and the village is Papigkon enough
Great place to spend a few days in the mountain, we used it as a base for walking the vikos gorge and rafting the voidomatis river. Vangelis is a great host, breakfast is simple but perfect and really enough. Bathroom is small but clean and again, perfect for staying in Papingo. Don't expect hotel amenities, it is a guesthouse. But totally recommended!
Perfect location in the top of the village with amazing mountains view in nice shared balcony, private parking area, well equipped and clean rooms, authentic and beautiful style. Breakfast was beyond expectations. We even bought a jar of their perfect homemade orange jam for few Euros. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended!
The host was very friendly and helped us with directions, suggestions and generally contributed in a wonderful stay at Pinocchio. The location was excellent, with a great view and a cozy room and patio. Moreover the breakfast was wonderful, handmade by the host. Overall it was a very pleasant weekend at Pinocchio at mikro Papigo.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in the Zagori region of Greece. Voula and her family at the hotel were perfect and charming hosts that helped us make the most of our time in the area. A beautiful location, lovely rooms and a delicious restaurant. We would love to come back to Papingo and stay here again!
Great views of the cliffs, a spacious, clean and comfortable room.
The shower was really comfortable (much better than other showers we had and greece).
Good wifi.
On top of it all - the most amazing and generous breakfast! With homemade gem and pastries
Great hotel, we had a beautiful room, very clean, well organized. big space with small kitchen and living room. the staff are friendly and helpful. tasty breakfast and great coffee. the beds are so comfortable, we slept better than usual 😊😊
Beautiful little hotel with amazing views. The staff / owner are so friendly. The bed was very comfy. I would highly recommend. The location is perfect and close to all of the great local activities, hikes and sites.
beautiful scenic hotel, delicious breakfast, friendly owners. We loved it. Waking up at the hotel and looking at the mountains in the morning is a memory I'll remember for a long time. Breakfast was incredible.
The property was in a beautiful spot and blended so beautifully with the character and surroundings of the village. Ilias was really amazing and kind made us feel welcome immediately!!!
This hotel was in a lovely spot at the edge of village. Convenient hiking paths right outside the hotel door. Beautiful view of the mountains from our room.
