It was an extremely interesting experience to stay in such an authentic and different place - both the city and the Malvasia Hotel. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bed was large. The breakfast was very pleasant with delicious food, and the staff was kind and responsive.

The location of the property was excellent with views over the sea and Monemvasia from the balcony. When we arrived we were given a map and detailed information about the area. The walk to Monemvasia from the accommodation was only about 15mins along the causeway. The breakfast was very good - a buffet with lots of choices which was eaten either in the hotel or at the tables on the beach with the rock of Monemvasia in the background. Very photogenic!

The Medieval fortress of Monemvasia is truly amazing with it’s cobbled streets and alley ways. The fortress and church at the top are a must see but the walk uphill is difficult. It needs to be noted that like all of Greece this place has a lot of ups and downs so you need to have fairly good mobility. But the hmm and authentic architecture is a must see.Much has been restored to it’s original structures. The vistas of the sea is awesome.

An amazing place, very pretty.
An amazing place, very pretty. Worth climbing up the steps, but not for the feint hearted, and wear trainers. I would imagine it gets very busy so would recommend going early. And worth getting the shuttle bus, it’s further than you think.

Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring.
Monemvasia is a magical place, beautiful and awe inspiring. As long as you are reasonably fit and mobile there is a lot to explore. A few shops and tavernas, bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from. History oozes from every stone. I did not like to see the horses laden with stone carrying to and from the building works, slipping on the steep cobbled streets. There are workers with trolleys and wheel Barrows to carry your luggage if you want but nowhere is that far away, pack very light though. Parking is restricted so drop off your stuff at the gate and go away to park, or get a bus from the town on the mainland. It's not the easiest plave to access but it is worth it.

Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated.
Monemvasia needs at least 4 days to be fully appreciated. The hiking trails around the castle and Kalives are often ignored in favor of the castle, which is a crime. The castle is obviously the big attraction here and it's worth it alone. I would suggest staying in Gefira and walking up the castle if you are physically able instead of driving. Skorpios (in Gefira) and Matoula (in the castle) were my favorite places to eat at. By no means should you neglect to try the local wines, especially Malvasia.

It was cool to realize you were staying in something that existed 500 years before you were born, before planes, trains and automobiles... Accomodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Staying here is about the experience, not the amenities. We really enjoyed our visit. I loved exploring the ruins of the upper town at sunrise. It is a very cool experience.
The property is in central location, close to the beach and 200meters from the Monemvasia bridge. It was clean and well equipped with coffee machine, a hairdryer, an iron and hotel amenities (shampoo, shower gel, slippers). It was very cozy with nice decoration and the owner paid attention to detail.
The owner (Dimitris) is very kind and helpful. He welcomed us with a basket of fruits, a bottle of wine and waters and in the end he gave us a small souvenir gift as well.
If we go again to Monemvasia, it will be our first choice.
The location is perfect. Easily accessible by car and in walking distance from the entrance of the castle (8-10 min). There was free parking - very important! Hotel upgraded us to a deluxe room next to the sea. 🙏We loved the rustic rocky style. Room was clean with comfortable beds and bath amenities. We also loved our terrace - perfect for your morning coffee and chilling. Staff was very helpful and kind. We suggest it for your stay in Monemvasia.
Lovely place to stay in Monemvasia. The city is absolutely magical, and my friend and I always spend a few days in winter there in Malvasia hotel. This time we had booked a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the sea, the nearby church and the city from where we could see the sun rise every morning. The place was spacious and functionnal. Delicious breakfast in the morning. We would definitely come back again :-)
This is a lovely little hotel within the walled town on Monemvasia. The room was great, with a lounge area and the bedroom up some stairs. There were two air-con units to keep temperature just as you like it. Breakfast was good, and we sat outside to eat in the sunshine. Shops and restaurants are nearby. No traffic is allowed within the city walls, so its lovely and peaceful. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Great location the view is breathtaking! The architecture of the hotel is outstanding but the whole town in the castle keeps the same style . It’s like living in a medieval fairytale .
As for the room was Very nice with old style furniture and most important they were keeping it clean everyday ! There was also a small lovely terrace next to our room so you can sit and admire the Myrtoan sea.
The location was the best in the area. The view from our balcony was perfect. The room was one of the best that we stayed for our three months in Greece. The host were wonderful and we could have stayed here a month. It's a short walk to everything. Parking is good, the bed was very comfortable, great shower, fireplace (although we didn't need it), and two VERY NICE BALCONIES.
Love the hotel deep in the castle. Room was very large and accommodating. (Bedroom, living room, bathroom) WiFi strong, view amazing. Breakfast was delicious in the morning and staff was very accommodating. Close to town and easy to access restaurants and shops. Also easy to access hiking up to the top of the mountain. Highly recommend!
New hotel in the area, very nice location and great views. The room is pretty small, developers probably wants to squeeze as many rooms per building as they can. On a plus side- AC worked, comfortable beds and super clean. Very friendly ladies at the check-in. It is only 10 min drive from Monemvasia. Overall good stay.
Beautiful place, especially loved the huge balcony with a view! The hosts were kind enough to leave bottled water, fruit, local wine and local treats! They even helped us with our bags to and from the car (if you stay anywhere within the castle you have to leave your car at the gate). Highly highly recommend!
This is a fantastic family hotel !!! A really hidden place nearby Monemvasia... amazing view, nice pool, possible to swim directly in the sea, exceptional food and the service is great !!!!! Everyone should book this hotel, impossible to find a better place in this area.
Great view of port, waterfront.Friendly staff.Great location in port, right at bus stop and causeway to Monemvasia.Shops and restaurants and bars, bakeries and supermarkets easy short walk. We were upgraded from double to triple room, more space.Thankyou staff and Booking.

The room was very clean.
The air conditioning worked perfectly.
The hotel was close to Monemvasia.
Generally the place was quiet.
Matress was nice and comfortable.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay! They definitely made me feel welcome in their excellent hotel. The hotel was also a quick walk to town and was located on a hill which offered great views of Monemvasia!
Amazing location. A simple hotel, but does everything well. Good sized rooms, clean, great hosts. Incredible position. Monemvasia is a little walk but so worth it. Fantastic place. Breakfast very good.
This hotel is excellent location to explore Monemvasia area . Clean , modern rooms and very lovely staff running the hotel , very helpful with information and also lovely breakfast.
The location within the castle walls, overlooking the sea is absolutely great. The traditional stone decor of the former monastery also makes for a very unique stay.
