This is a brand new guesthouse/hotel in Khalde a tiny spot 3km away from Iprari. This is an awesome place with stunning views over the valley and nearby mountains. The rooms are perfectly clean, great wooden smell, with all the amenities you need. The food is excellent and different from the other guesthouses (a nice surprise). We had the best sleep of all the guesthouses we stayed so far. Highly recommended!!

Shorena (is the owner and Angelina is the daughter) is a lovely lady and so is her Husband. Very kind host and very welcoming and kind. They love animals and have 2 cats and two kittens and a wonderful German Shepard Maxy (who spends most of his day play chasing the cats and kittens) who is adorable.
She's also a fab cook and makes amazing food.
But the amazing thing about this place is the view. It looks directly onto Shakara mountain. It's 3 mins from the village of Ushilgi just up the hill. Very quiet.
Shorena is an incredibly kind person. A gem of a place to stay in Usguli

I had a lovely stay at Nora's Guesthouse. Located at the top of Ushguli, you can look onto the Greater Caucasus mountains from the front doorstep on clear mornings, with the monastery in the foreground.
The breakfast was fantastic and the best value of all the guest houses I stayed in. It is a true working farm, so the eggs come from the chickens and the cheese from the cows that get milked each evening when they bring themselves home from the mountain pastures.
The big black guard dog is super friendly and they have a horse you can rent to take you to the glacier.

Ushguli is uniquely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind location.
Ushguli is uniquely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind location. Quite simply a dream. It deserves time spent here. More than a day trip. You can hike. You can sit and soak up the unforgettable views. Wandering through Ushguli is like stepping back in time. We stayed for two nights and it was quite simply one of the top highlights of our travels to date. Our mistake: not staying longer.
Ivasu khari, Ushguli! ❤️ ("Thank you, Ushguli" in Svan)

Authentic beautiful mountain village. Definitely recommend. But it is cheaper to get there then to return from it to Mestia.
You can go hiking to Shkhara glacier by foot or take a horse for half a way.

Ushguli an amazing place. I travelled from Tbilisi by car.
Ushguli an amazing place. I travelled from Tbilisi by car. The roads are not the best and you will need a 4WD car, but you will be rewarded with amazing views. untouched landscape and unforgettable views. When in Ushguli you will feel like someone sent you back to another century and this is what gives this village a distinctive charm. In the village itself you do not need a car, everything is walking distance and make sure you do walk around and dive into the village life. When you visit Ushguli even in Summer be aware that it can get a little chilly in the evening outdoors.

The landscape is amazing, you can have an easy hike to the glacier, rent a horse or hire a 4x4 car to take you to the glacier. There are hikes for every level, you can be very unfit and you will still enjoy it. If you are a hiker than for sure you are in heaven.
Try the cinema, it is a very authentic experience.

This was absolutely the best part of Georgia for my husband and I. The combination of medieval towers, spectacular mountain scenery, and getting to see everyday farm life in the village was such a unique experience. The hike to the nearby Shkhara glacier is also fabulous. I would love to come back here someday.

Incredibly difficult place to get to but worth the effort.
Incredibly difficult place to get to but worth the effort. High in the Svaneti mountains, close to the glaciers, this is a trekker's paradise. Kids riding their ponies through the streets at break-neck speed, shooing pigs from the garden, cows being milked in the street, this place has it all. And the scenery is out of this world
