This was the best vacation of our life. The hotel is very conveniently located from the town and yet only a few minutes walk away from the Hatsvali cable car. We stayed in Room No.301 which has a bedroom and a separate sitting area with couch and a very big private terrace overlooking the mountains. Overall the room has two balconies and a private terrace. The room is provided with very big glass windows. The views from the room of the surrounding mountains is simply outstanding . No words to explain the views, it's simply astounding and superb. We spent whole days in the room and open terrace just soaking in the scenery. We wake up each morning seeing the snowing and the magical landscape. The staff are the best people we have ever come across in any of the hotels. It felt like second home to us. The manager Lasha is always there to make you comfortable and to fullfill any of your needs. The caretaker Aunty la is simply an outstanding cook and a marvellous human being, very kind and always at your service. The breakfast every morning was superb. The owner of the hotel Uncle Vakho is a very friendly and funny person, ready to help you with any of your requirement. He even gave us home made wine and dropped us to the bus station at town square on the last day. Overall we had the best vacation of our life.

We stayed for three nights and were quite pleased with our experience overall. The location was particularly impressive, offering stunning views of the mountains and Svanetia from the balcony. It's worth mentioning that having a car is recommended for easier access. The breakfasts were delicious, and we appreciated the tranquil atmosphere.

We were in Mestia at the end of the winter season (end of March). If you want to ski relaxed and without queues in the middle of the great scenery of the Caucasus: Tetnuldi (30 to 40 minutes by car from the hotel) is an absolute insider tip!!! A smaller ski area is only 5 minutes away.
Modern chairlifts, slopes well prepared......breathtaking views. A real alternative for skiing to the crowded skiresorts in the Alps!

I was thinking Mestia was just gateway for Usyuguri Village, but the fact is not. It is nice and cozy town but very convenient as I could buy basic stuff at some shops and change money.
Taking walk in early morning was also nice to take photos of the towers and overview of village.

Mestia is a very beuatiful and special place in Georgia.
Mestia is a very beuatiful and special place in Georgia. Here you can find wonderful mountains, interesting traditions and great food. To go here it is better to choose Summer or Winter season. Winter is good for skiing, Summer is good for trekking and hiking. When in Mestia do not miss the chance to go uphill to Ushguli. These villages are UNESCO heritage and it is necessary to see it at least once. However, be informed that the road to Ushguli is really dangerous because of the stone falls and it is better not to go there when there is a bad weather, especially during the rain.
Charming and caring hosts, attentive and great with children. Cozy and clean hotel with a warm atmosphere, including great views from the room and the big terrace. The food was amazing and the restaurant menu offered a broad variety of Georgian and special Svanetian dishes. The breakfast was rich, combining freshly prepared salads and hot snacks.
Massi, their family dog may be impressive in his appearance but he is certainly one of the most relaxed and kid-friendly dogs we have ever met. Our two year old daughter loved him.
This guesthouse was our favorite place in Georgia. It is a new building, very clean and cozy. The whole house is heated, which is nice during cold nights and days.
The guesthouse is run by Salome (she speak English perfectly) and her husband, and they do everything to make their guests feel at home. They helped us plan our hikes and transportation. And most importantly, we fell in love with their dog who accompanied us during our entire hike.. :)
We totally recommend staying with them!
The guesthouse owners were very attentive, helpful, and resourceful. We went on car trips to Ushguli and other locations in Svaneti with Gia, the host. We absolutely loved Eteri’s cooking, which is a mix of traditional Svan, Georgian, and European dishes. The rooms were modern and clean, each with its own bathroom, hot water, clean sheets, etc. The guesthouse is located in a quiet neighbourhood several minutes walk from the centre of Mestia near where the trail to the Cross starts.
There is many nice places in Mestia. This one, however, is located a bit further off the main street and is a beautiful old house that has been redone nicely while preserving it’s old character. Dato, the owner knows Georgian, Svan, English and Russian (maybe even more), helps you with anything and is always available for a chat.
It’s a guesthouse not a hotel after all. If you look for fancy stuff continue looking. Otherwise you will have a great place to stay in Mestia.
The hostess is the sweetest and most helpful in town. She gives good advice on places to eat, sightsee and on activities. She is hardworking too to keep the guesthouse clean and comfortable. I was assigned to a twin-bed room that looks out to the street. It was very cozy and clean. The guesthouse has a historic Svaneti tower connected to it but the climb up to its top is not for the faint-hearted. Definitely a good choice of stay in Mestia.
+ best view: The house is probably house with the best view on Mestia
+ best feeling: Also the wodden inside delivers on the cozy feeling in how it is in the pictures
+ very nice host: The host has been very helpful at our stay and helped us as well for transfer as well as getting us around the region
+ tasty breakfast: Breakfast offers both Georgian and international cuisine and is very tasty (pancakes and French toast every morning)
One of the absolute best places I have ever stayed. You are taken care of in the best way. Rati was such an amazing host. Helped to organize trips and invited us for an very special evening were we were toasting the Georgian way and discussed life. Lot to learn from this amazing guy!
Newly renovated rooms, great location, great breakfast.
So happy we found this place! Made our stay in Mestia special. Look no further, this is the place.
The most wonderful hotel run by the most friendly Ralf and Tamara. Brilliantly located, spotlessly clean, fantastic rooms and bathrooms with views over the mountains. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and plenty of it! Ralf went out of his way to accommodate this solo traveller and share stories about beautiful Svaneti and Georgia more broadly. Could not recommend this hotel more!
Great facility, they helped for all our needs. We rescued some people from a mountain accident from Tetnuldi, Hotel Kala was our main communication. They helped even a rescue operation in the best way💯 We will come back next year and stay here! Thanks for everything 🙏
Facility is great, I stayed at many places in Georgia, this was by far the best! See you next year!
The sisters Anna and Nana, and their whole family, are some of the kindest, most welcoming people you’ll ever meet. They are willing to teach you about Georgian culture and language if you are willing to learn. If you want to experience true Georgian hospitality I highly recommend staying at this beautiful guesthouse!
Very clean and spacious room with private bathroom. All pretty new and well designed. We had good sleep in comfortable bed. Not too loud neighborhood even though very close to the town center. Best place we had around Mestia and one of the best we had in Georgia. The host was one of the few who could speak English.
We spent here very priceless time. All the people are very nice, wiling and helpful. The breakfast was the best we ate in Georgia :) Rooms are very clean, modern and new. There is gonna be a bar on the rooftop with a view on Mestia. Highly recommend you this accommodation! We will come back for sure <3
We loved our stay at the Hotel Old House Mestia. the views are incredible and the entire staf was warm, welcoming, and super helpful. The food was excellent and dinner on the terrace was such a treat after hiking and exploring the area.
Very comfy. Feels like staying in your cousin’s home. The host was very nice. Best breakfast we had in Georgia. They have spacious shared area which you can hangout, watch TV, or even cooking.
A well maintained hotel with common kitchen in the very center of Mestia. The views from the balcony are beautiful and relaxing. The hosts are welcoming and accommodating.
This is the best hotel in Mestia! The front desk staff is amazing, the bar is great, the food and drinks are just perfect. Spa is another great mention.
