We were in Mestia at the end of the winter season (end of March). If you want to ski relaxed and without queues in the middle of the great scenery of the Caucasus: Tetnuldi (30 to 40 minutes by car from the hotel) is an absolute insider tip!!! A smaller ski area is only 5 minutes away.
Modern chairlifts, slopes well prepared......breathtaking views. A real alternative for skiing to the crowded skiresorts in the Alps!

It's easy to get around Mestia. The places i liked the most were: Koruldi Lakes, Tetnuldi ski resort, Ushguli and local museums in Mestia. The food was great in the local restaurants, everything highly recommended!

I was thinking Mestia was just gateway for Usyuguri Village, but the fact is not. It is nice and cozy town but very convenient as I could buy basic stuff at some shops and change money.
Taking walk in early morning was also nice to take photos of the towers and overview of village.
The host lady was fantastic, she even arranged that the marshutka picked us up from the guest house, when we travelled back to Tbilisi next morning. Upon arrival she offered us coffee, cha cha and some snack. We loved their cha cha and cognac so much, that we bought some as well. (Best cha cha and cognac that we tasted in Georgia) Her daughter speaks very well English, so communication was good. The place is spotless clean and location is also good in Mestia center. I would highly recommend this guest house.
Svaneti Apartment is a 10-minute walk from the centre of Mestia following the river. It is simple, but nice and clean. You can communicate with the host in English through Booking, but since he is not there, when you arrive you can only speak in Georgian or Russian. In spite of this, we had no problem communicating with the local lady Tamara, using body language. She was amazing, always smiley and helping with everything. She makes wonderful sponge cakes! We will definitely go back.
the location was perfect, really close to the centre but also quiet. what I liked the most was the cleanliness, the staff was helpful and nice. they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. it has a cozy atmosphere and the views were amazing especially from the 4th floor and in the morning I had the best breakfast by the fireplace. would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Mestia. it wasn't my first time in Svaneti but it definitely was the best.
It was immaculate. We loved it so much that we decided to stay many more days. Highly recommended and a booking you can trust to deliver even more than advertised. The breakfasts were a feast with anything you can think of served and made by a real protective and friendly grandma with love and pride.
The rooms were spacious, well equipped, no noise at all with a stunning view. Exactly as per our preference.

We stayed here for our wedding in Mestia. They staff is AMAZING and very helpful. The hotel is clean, is perfectly located, and has exceptional views. The breakfast each morning is one of the best hotel breakfasts in our lives! And best of all, they are dog-friendly (no extra fee). I highly would recommend staying here. We plan to stay here every time we return to Svaneti!
After long ride to Mestia it was great to rest in this place. The owner helped us a lot with organising trip to the mountains and always checked if we need anything. Room was cozy and clean with great view, but the best of all great things there were breakfasts. They served local cuisine, cooked by lovely lady. We recommend everyone to visit this hotel!! :D
They have renovated the place unusually well for Mestia, and the daughter (who is from Tbilisi) tries unusually hard to be a kind, modern, and accommodating host. Despite the inconvenient location, this could be one of the best guesthouses in Mestia for the price if they treated guests in a remotely fair, modern, and honest way.

Seriously, if you want to have cheap, but comfortable accomodation in Mestia...this is the place. Surely it is not a 5 star hotel, but it is clean, comfortable, the hosts are nice, the location is very good and the views in the area are absolutely stunning.
It's a great guesthouse, with stunning views on Mestia towers and on mountains around. The owner is very nice, friendly, rooms are well equipped and really clean. Initially we booked for 2 nights but then extended it to 4, to enjoy Mestia for longer.

Fantastic hotel situated in the heart of Mestia. Spacious, warm rooms, incredibly comfortable mattresses for sleeping, and stunning views of the area. Special mention goes to the staff and owner, who have done a lot for our comfortable stay.
