We were in Mestia at the end of the winter season (end of March). If you want to ski relaxed and without queues in the middle of the great scenery of the Caucasus: Tetnuldi (30 to 40 minutes by car from the hotel) is an absolute insider tip!!! A smaller ski area is only 5 minutes away.
Modern chairlifts, slopes well prepared......breathtaking views. A real alternative for skiing to the crowded skiresorts in the Alps!

It's easy to get around Mestia.
It's easy to get around Mestia. The places i liked the most were: Koruldi Lakes, Tetnuldi ski resort, Ushguli and local museums in Mestia. The food was great in the local restaurants, everything highly recommended!

I was thinking Mestia was just gateway for Usyuguri Village, but the fact is not. It is nice and cozy town but very convenient as I could buy basic stuff at some shops and change money.
Taking walk in early morning was also nice to take photos of the towers and overview of village.
Unlike at many guesthouses I have stayed at in Georgia, the room was pretty much of hotel quality minus a TV set. The kitchen is well stocked and clean. I did a load of laundry for free. I paid for the host for a taxi service to but not from Chalaadi Glacier. It may have been slightly more expensive than offers I could have got in the city center, but it seemed more reliable to me and it was nice book ahead and start the ride from the guesthouse.
Fantastic views, great host and the best breakfast we had in Georgia. We enjoyed the place much more than crowded Mestia and there are many walks around. The road to the place is not entirely paved and requires careful driving. We drove with a private sedan and it was fine so no need for a 4x4 but it does take a bit of time. The owners were helpful and informative and put up a bonfire for us in the evening.
The best thing about Ioska’s house is that you feel like home there. The place is nicely decorated, very clean and cozy with beautiful garden and mountain view. Yet it is just a short walk to the city. The food is tasty and the hosts are very hospitable and friendly. The owner can also help you organize your time in Svaneti. We could not choose better place to stay in Mestia. Thank you Ioska 🙂
We stayed here for our wedding in Mestia. They staff is AMAZING and very helpful. The hotel is clean, is perfectly located, and has exceptional views. The breakfast each morning is one of the best hotel breakfasts in our lives! And best of all, they are dog-friendly (no extra fee). I highly would recommend staying here. We plan to stay here every time we return to Svaneti!
The location is fantastic for daily trips and for moving around Mestia.
We enjoyed spending time outside at the terrace as well as in our cozy room with an excellent blanket.
The host was just beyond perfect. Always smilling and asking if we need anything. She gave us lunch boxes. We felt like at home.

It was one of the memorable stay of our 21 days Georgia trip. The hosts were such good people, you will feel like home. The views were simply the best, we didn't leave the guest house for our entire stay. If we ever come back to mestia, those will be our place to stay.
Rooms were quite spacious and very neat & clean. What stood out for me is the staff. They were always going above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. In our entire Georgia trip (10 days) we stayed in multiple hotels but this hotel had the most delicious breakfast.
