The staff were fine. but the building was closed so they weren't evident. On Sat evening the bar closed at 9.45 pm and building then not staffed and on Sunday afternoon at 4 pm, so no bar, no food and no staff.

The Rose and Crown was a lovely place to stay.

The Rose and Crown was a lovely place to stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful at all times. It was very convenient for visiting different beaches and for walking the coast path. We found lovely paths where we didn't have to use the car, and could walk from the Rosie. It was easy to catch a bus into Plymouth to save taking the car in , and if you have a bus pass, even better.

The hotel is central and within easy reach of the beach and moors but you need a car. The food is excellent and there are a couple of other restaurants in the area. A small row of shops is near the hotel which cover most necessities, as well as a garage and petrol station.

Yealmpton lovely and Hotel and grounds beautiful.

Yealmpton lovely and Hotel and grounds beautiful. Booked through Booking.com what I thought was bed and breakfast only to find it was room only. Breakfast cost for 4 adults and 2 children around £70! I had already paid £240+ for 1 night for four adults and two children on way to Cornwall. I was told at reception that it would have been cheaper had I booked direct with Hotel and not BOOKING.COM. Won't make that mistake again. Yealmpton lovely.
