Great welcome. Beautiful room. Robe was a bonus. Room finish excellent and facilities really good - Nespresso a great touch. Shower gel and conditioner another bonus. And breakfast was fantastic. Enjoyed the granola and yoghurt. Full breakfast superb. And coffee first rate. The waitress was so good too. This is a really classy place but with people who make you very welcome even a 60 years old in town for the cricket.

The room was spacious and clean. The shower room was large and the bath sheets were great as usually a hotel only provide a bath towel. Shower gel was also provided. Tea coffee hot chocolate and water and biscuits was inclusive.

We loved the historical attractions and some of the architecture. Sadly there seems to be a lack of decent modernisation. There were a lot of street drinkers, drug takers and statement dogs that definitely has made me think twice about returning

Great place for anyone who loves history.
Great place for anyone who loves history. Particularly Medieval and English Civil War then of course there is the Elgar connection. Plenty of old buildings. Worth looking out for tours of the City and the Cathedral reasonably priced -the knowledge and enthusiasm of the guides are a credit to the city. The Cathedral is free to visit though donations encouraged -and King John's tomb is there.
The riverside walks are great, and always like seeing the swan sanctuary . Found prices for food and drink cheaper than where I live.
The historical sites of the City are largely central and relatively near to each other.

A lovely city, large enough to have everything we needed but small enough to walk round. Some beautiful historic buildings, great setting on the River Severn, easy access from the M5. The city has a superb range of pubs, from historic buildings to micropubs, a great location for beer enthusiasts..

I stay outside Worcester but don't come from area.
Some places can be expensive, too expensive. Takes time to find what is reasonable priced.
Lot of roadworks, traffic diversions - very annoying and could understand people not visiting or staying long because of this.
Lot of cafes, but almost all closed for business by early afternoon - bit of wilderness for such cafes in afternoon/evening.

I spent 1 night and 1 day here with a specific itinerary - the historic ghost walk, the cathedral, Greyfriars, Tudor museum.
Worcester is very easy to travel to by train and car and to get around. There are some fantastic historic buildings, cafes and pubs. I stayed at Browns at the Quay and ate there. I also had a delicious afternoon tea at G&Tea. A very enjoyable stay - will be back soon to see some other things!
Staff were very helpful, friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble.
Food was great and good value for money.
Beer garden was the best I have seen. There was plenty of tables outside and also a covered area that had heaters. There was a brilliant area for children to play in that is safe and secure.
The level of cleanliness is exceptional.
We had our dog and the location was perfect with great walks nearby.
We are travelling from Scotland to Torquay and this was a fabulous hotel to break the journey. A great start to our holiday.
Very convenient location, walkable into town and to the canal and onwards to the river path and Cathedral. The apartment was nicely decorated and the fully equipped kitchen was a dream to make most meals during our long-stay. Glad we had an assigned and free parking space too, as elsewhere is full up or expensive.
There were a few issues that came up as the apartment was new that the staff took care of right away and cheerfully.
We'll definitely return to the Commandery Vaults when we return to Worcester city.
The room was quite big compared to others I have used and the bed was comfortable. The one thing that really annoyed me was the £10 per day charge for parking my car in the Hotel's Car Park area. I consider this to be un-acceptable. On this holiday, I stayed in 10 hotels in total and Fownes Hotel was the only one to charge for parking.
This hotel is well run pub-cum-hotel which offers comfortable accommodation. Everyone was very helpful. The restaurant offers good quality pub food with the breakfast always tasting freshly cooked. The location is on the edge of Worcester's pedestrianised area with plenty of shops, cafes, bars near at hand.
Wow. What a great find. Hope to stay again as loved Worcester and the apartment. Great location. Very tasteful and very well equipped. Great shower and very comfortable bed. Secure car park with allocated space. Nice extra touches, which were appreciated.
We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the river - it was gorgeous, clean, modern and fully equipped. A nice glass of fizz on arrival plus a late breakfast. The staff were lovely too - I would recommend this for anyone visiting Worcester.
We always stay here if we can when visiting family in Worcester. It is a well-maintained hotel, excellent quality furnishings, and we love that they have the best sound-proofing of any of the hotel chains we stay at
We’ve just returned from a 2 night stay and could not fault anything. Hotel, Staff, Location and Restaurant were 10/10. If you’re staying in Worcester then look no further as Browns is perfect.
Location was great for a quick exploration of Worcester. Hotel is an old pub so typical quirkiness of old buildings. Breakfast was OK - not great like the reviews indicated
Very convenient location for Worcester city centre with decent sized car parking although it costs £5 a day. The hotel has a lift. Reasonable choice of food for breakfast.
