This was a return visit so that says it all. Perfect just like last time. Love the breakfast smoothie. You can't beat the location in a beautiful thatched village, walking distance to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and local pubs. We will be back again on our next road trip. Parking was good also ( a big point for us)

Beautiful little village with thatched cottages, an 18th century Church, and ideal for getting to local attractions such as Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Bonus is a pop up Thai takeaway on a Saturday night.

We were looking for a mini break late November and stayed 2 nights at Cottars. Great location for many places in the Purbecks. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing break and Cottars was a big part of our overall enjoyment.

The kitchen is very well equipped.
The kitchen is very well equipped. The rear garden is very long and in warmer weather would be delightful. The living room is spacious and with an open fire burning was warm and cosy. Guest should be aware that the staircase is narrow, very steep and spiral so not suited for those with mobility issues. It was a great base for us visiting Lulworth Cove.

The tank museum nearby is the reason for our travels, however Winfrith Newburgh has practically convinced us to move to Dorset! It's such a beautiful place in the UK with gorgeous access to the coast, and wonderful rolling hills.

I booked Marley House as a base for visiting Weymouth but Marley House is in such beautiful surroundings, we also visited the village and church etc. we also had a meal at the Red Lion pub, expensive but good food. Winfrith is easy to get around by car and/or walking. We found a lovely footpath into open fields, wonderful for Florence our little dog. On our next visit, I’d visit at the beginning of summer for better weather.

Perfect location in a really peaceful and tranquil setting.
Perfect location in a really peaceful and tranquil setting. On the doorstep of Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Monkey World and so many other beautiful locations. Perfect if you love walking which I do. Brought some of my own food as self catering, but we ate at a lovely little cafe / restaurant at Lulworth Cove, and there are pubs close to Nutley Farm too.

What is not to like? - Great hosts, beautiful location, the room (and the hotel) decorated and furnished to a very high standard, and the bed.... sooooo comfy! (great blackout curtains too)
Would definitely stay here again - situated 10 mins drive from Jurrasic Durdle Door Beach and walking distance to a really friendly pub (Red Lion)
We highly recommend 👌 👍 👏 to anyone - also dog friendly - the grounds of the hotel are very peaceful and next door to an old stone church - just lovely
All good. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Easy to find. Good parking arrangements. Rural scenery from room. Continental breakfast was just right with croissant, homemade bread, cereal and yogurt. Close to many of Dorset's attractions including the sea! Very comfortable Otty bed. So good I'm going to buy one. Room wasn't "en suite" but had my own bathroom across the hall so no issue there. Bathroom was excellent and very clean and spacious
The room was compact but very comfortable. The hosts and staff were very welcoming and engaging. The hotel has a lot of history and charm and the owners were very happy to explain and show. The location was very good for access to local attractions, eg Durdle Door and Corfe Castle. Breakfast and dinner were both very good. Will stay again.
excellent location for tank museum and other Dorset attractions . owners operators a couple always ready with excellent communication to please and arrange awesome trip they share their home with private entrance include home made breakfast share outside terrace with views of garden and countryside
Location was great, near enough everything while being far enough out. Breakfast has to have been one of the best breakfasts I have had. Evening meals were just absolutely incredible. Staff brilliant
The hotel room was very nice, modern and clean. The pub downstairs served a nice dinner - fairly standard pub food. The breakfast was very good and freshly cooked.
