Baskerville House, hotel in Winforton

Baskerville House, a property with a shared lounge, is located in Clyro, 48 km from Elan Valley, 6.1 km from Clifford Castle, as well as 13 km from Kinnersley Castle.

Rebecca and Stephen created a truly exceptional place. They are wonderful hosts, warm, engaging and making everybody feel at ease; additionally the honour system for open bar did help us feel at home. The building and guest rooms are freshly decorated to highest standard, comparable to five-star hotels. Exceptionally tasty breakfast; fresh produce, sourced locally, in fact with much of it coming from the village of Clyro. Please make sure to try the home-made sausages and black pudding. Do follow any suggestion Rebecca may have for dinner locally; she is a former chef and you will be in good hands. Do not come if you cannot live without your daily portion of Eastenders, as the guest rooms are not equipped with TV sets.

The village and countryside of Hay on Wye are stunning and interesting. The bookshops and the charming streets of the village need to be explored at leisure. There are many attractive getaways for families including farm visits--our three year old granddaughter had an enriching and fun time at Small Breeds Farm nearby. All we could have asked for was good weather. Ah well.
