From a personal point of view, we haven't stayed in a place that is such incredible value for money as this. We paid what we thought was our usual, low budget fee and felt like we'd won the lottery. Beautiful quiet scenic setting, friendly staff, really comfy bed, super clean, everything feels like top quality. Wish we'd stayed for more than one night as it would've made for a wonderfully relaxing long stay. They set a very high bar.

The views from the back window are stunning.
The little touches a welcome goodie bag fresh milk and orange and more.
Location is unreal your right in the heart of Whitby we will most definitely be returning to this little gem.
This charming family-run hotel has a great restaurant and a wonderful, peaceful location on Whitby’s West Cliff, near the seafront and within walking distance of the town centre.

Came purely for a rock n roll event at the Pavilion but what we saw of Whitby was lovely but lots of steps so anyone with mobility problems really need to studie where best to go. But the fish and chip are amazing.

The best, most picturesque English seaside town I've visited. So much to see and do. The ancient harbour and twin piers; lots of restaurants such as Magpie Cafe and the Humble Pie and Mash shop; lots of places to stay; Skinner Street with its boutique shops and lovely Botham's bakery; a ruined Abbey dominating the views; a brewery; gorgeous sunsets on the beach; sailing boats and boat trips; an old marketplace and the local museum set in a beautiful park (you need at least 2 or 3 hours for the museum); a steam railway. Also, Whitby is ideal for exploring the local area such as pretty Robin Hood Bay, Scarborough and the Yorkshire Moors.

We’ve been coming to Whitby for many years.
We’ve been coming to Whitby for many years. We prefer it in better weather. We came home earlier than planned as it was raining heavily.
We always enjoy visiting the local shops and bars as the people are very friendly. We had lunch at The Duke of York pub which was good value for money.

First time visitor to Whitby, and it won't be the last.
First time visitor to Whitby, and it won't be the last. Was such a lovely place, everything you need really close. Stunning views and excellent food everywhere. Fish and chips were unbeatable. Trenches were outstanding.
Our room was spacious, bright and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was generous and a bargain at the price we paid. The hotel has a lovely quiet garden and an honesty bar means you can enjoy a relaxing drink before turning in for the night. The location was ideal for walking into Whitby and the picturesque village itself has a nice pub and a licensed cafe further along the river where you can sit and enjoy a nice drink and a meal. There are some nice local walks nearby and you can hire a rowboat or a kayak to enjoy an hour on the river.
Loved it. Beautiful location in a hip part of Whitby, very close to the centre, room was gorgeous, clean, comfortable and spacious yet cosy... couldn't have asked for more! Loved the decor too, and the fact that all the rooms are themed around various Whitby legends - we want to go back and sample some of the other rooms! Oh, and the cafe/ bar downstairs (sorry, the name escapes me but it's part of the hotel) was lovely too and did a great breakfast and good coffee
The location is great, at the bottom of the Abbey steps and right on the harbour. The hotel has had a facelift since we were last there. The bar feels much lighter and brighter, and our room was well appointed with Nespresso machine, iron, hairdryer etc, and even had a freestanding in-room bath plus large shower. It looked out over the harbour with a separate entrance. Staff were generally friendly and helpful.
Great historic hotel very close to the sights in Whitby. Lovely spacious room with settee and four poster bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived early, parked the car in the hotel car park, then popped into the hotel reception to inform them. Room was already cleaned and ready, so we checked in. Great breakfast quality. Great tea & coffee facility in the room, Yorkshire Tea a real bonus.
We found the hotel beautiful.
Our room was excellent, spacious and comfortable.
The bathroom was also of a high standard, TV above the bath and the spa bath was a welcome bonus after our walking.
The staff were always help and polite, nothing to much trouble for them.
Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, cooked very well and beautifully presented.
Would stay again.
Lovely hotel, room was spacious and we had a amazing sea view, was quite a walk down into town but was worth it, we had a dog so I would recommend eating in THE PIER it was along the harbour and down the road is a place called Sandsend which was a dog friendly beach and cheap to park only 20p an hour but if you wanted 2 hours it was £3 😂😂
We had two fabulous nights here @ the resolution hotel.. we stayed in room with lovely views - cost was a little extra but well worth it… staff were really nice & helpful.. location was perfect in centre of Whitby- breakfast was excellent with lots of choices- we had two evening meals which we really enjoyed again with all nice choices..
Room was spacious, mattress in bed was first class - want one at home. Although did not have a sea view room was great - even near reception etc we were not disturbed. Parking on forecourt or on street opposite with parking voucher supplied by hotel. Breakfast was very good! Staff very accommodating! Good location for visiting Whitby.
Room was nice size, very clean, the floor sloped in two different directions which was odd, the location was as we had requested, overlooking the harbour, in fact you couldn't get any closer to the harbour. Hotel is very central to all of Whitby and for breakfast we used The Singing Kettle right next door - highly recommended.
This property offerred privacy and was better than most hotels or airbnbs that we have visited. It was decorated. It provided more than enough space due to having a living room and kitchenette and if I was going back to Whitby, I would not hesitate to return to the Loft.
Really enjoyed our stay. After completing the Endurancelife trail race in Ravenscar the hotel pool and spa facilities were perfect!
Staff all friendly and helpful.
Out of town but it is walkable to Whitby and lots of bus stops.
Liked the experience as was something different and a different way of hotelling in that there's key code and your left alone to do whatever. You are provided with contact numbers however for emergencies and a email for enquiries.
The hotel couldn't be in a better spot in whitby. The room was a good size and in excellent condition. The pub was standard Witherspoon so you know exactly what your getting. All in all a very enjoyable 2 night stay
Staff was great and my room was clean happy with my stay love Whitby hotel is abit dated needs a good painting up when the season as ended but great views so I was happy
Spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. Large comfortable lounge. Great bathroom. Lovely aspect overlooking the park. Easy walk into the centre of Whitby.
It was a 1-2 mile walk from Whitby. It was dog friendly, the room was clean and very comfortable, and the staff were helpful. The breakfast was very good
