Glamp and Tipple Ltd, hotel in Watton

Boasting a garden and views of lake, Glamp and Tipple Ltd is a recently renovated luxury tent situated in Great Ellingham, 42 km from The Apex.

This 2 night stay was a surprise visit. When entering we had to give a credit card but we didn’t know this and I had no money left on it 😂I was worried they wouldn’t let us stay but they were fine about it I got some cash on my card and was able to sort this later in the evening. As this was a surprise we really wanted to have the best relaxing time and have a massage. Didn’t know you had to book in advance but talking to the lovely staff they arranged it for the next day all out of work hours when they should have been relaxing . This for me was why I will go back time and time again and with my family and dog. Truly 5 stars well worth it.

Photos don’t do this place justice.. it is huge! Absolutely spotlessly clean, massive comfy bed, loads of complementary extras. The hosts are the best and so helpful. Hope to stay again when back in the area and would highly recommend.

Old Rectory - Scoulton, hotel in Watton

Located in Scoulton, Old Rectory Cottage is an apartment featuring a barbecue. The property features views of the garden is 20 miles from Norwich. Free WiFi is offered.

This our 2nd stay at this property and it still has the wow factor as a location and the property was ideal for the 3 of us. It had everything we needed for a base to explore Norfolk and we did not even get time to use the amazing gardens which this property has. Lesley was a great host and she even saved the day when we left some items behind.

We cannot say much about Watton, because we only stayed a night at the Richmond Park Golf Club. The club, however was a good choice of overnight stop, & we'll certainly return there if & when we need accommodation in that part of Norfolk.

One of the few hotels etc in the area which didn't allow pets, which was good, so a real plus. Hotel was very easy to find and not far to walk into the town, which was handy as breakfast wasn't available, but was still a very good price.

Watton is a lovely little village with everything you need within a short walk from the property. Tesco’s, cafes, bakery, takeaways and smaller convenience stores make up the high street for Watton and for motorcycle enthusiasts, there’s even a Triumph dealership!

The High Street has a good selection of shops, - not full of charity shops like so many other Norfolk towns, a great little museum in the town hall, there are a couple of pubs, parking on the main road outside the shops was easy and free, there is a fair bit of history in the town, check out the 340 year old clock tower building... visit the site of the old airfield and memorial, then maybe use Watton as a base to set out from to visit the nearby towns of Swaffham, Dereham and maybe even Norwich.

The bed was comfortable (King) and the room had plenty of storage. In this hot weather the room was a comfortable temperature. The tables and chairs outside were useful and our two relatives were allowed to join us for coffee and chat for a while but we only saw one other guest so presume if the hotel was full that may not be possible in future?
