We didn’t have breakfast we ate elsewhere. We like the character of the hotel, it is full of character. This hotel is unique and has an interesting history unlike a lot of hotels that all look the same in every town and city.

I know Uttoxeter because I lived and worked there in the late sixties early seventies. Obviously there have been many changes but it is still a lovely market town. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and the retail park is in the town not on the outskirts like a lot of places. For those inclined it is ideal for Alton Towers and the Peak District.

A lovely place for bars and eateries, great cafes and traditional pubs. A lovely racecourse for those that enjoy a fun day out.
Uttoxeter is easy to get around on foot, had a small high street and an 18th century hotel called the White Hart that does a fantastic Sunday lunch.

Where we stayed was close to the main road which meant a lot of road noise at night but it was close to the town, which was worth looking around lots of little shops and on Saturday there was a Craft Market with lots of stalls selling anything from basket work, jewelry, pastries, cards, and paintings.
The townsfolk were kind, and informative, and made you feel welcome.
It all depends on why you are visiting in the first place.
We were told that as it was half term there were more children as they were visiting the theme park, there is also the horse racing track nearby

Uttoxeter is lively... especially I would guess on racing occasions the racecourse and facilities is amongst the best I have experienced anywhere and i would suggest punches way above its weight... The centre of Uttoxeter has a choice of pubs bars and eating places... I would guess it can be a little in your face at times but people having a good time have never been a problem to me... Lots of shops both local and quirky mixed with supermarkets etc...
Got a warm welcome from Caroline who gave us lots of helpful information regarding the town.
Room was cosy with a very comfortable bed and lots of hot water - great after a long journey. Plenty of storage. The bar was well stocked and the hotel had a nice area for sitting outside.
It is a beautiful hotel, when you arrive gives off a farm feel which is lovely. Car park available for us on stay and when entering the hotel was lovely and inviting so different to any regular hotel.
The prime location in the heart of Uttoxeter village walking distance to all amenities including the Uttoxeter race course and short walk to bus station were you van get bus to Alton Towers
