The location was very good as we were attending a wedding at Clearwell Castle 400m up the road. The breakfast on the morning after the wedding was generally very good, just thin on fresh fruit and toast.

The spa and leisure facilities are good, perhaps a little tired (poolside showers need tweaking and the rail to the jacuzzi is wobbly) but clean and a good selection of facilities. Nice old building if you like architecture.

I wanted to explore the area for a couple of days and this location was perfect. The flat was clean, very well presented, welcome basket on arrival. Good wifi, lovely views, parking right opposite. 2 pubs in walking distance (a 3rd is being refurbished). Had dinner in the Rose & Crown, very nice, they don't open all day but the steaks were delicious. Also visited the Anchor Inn, by the Abbey, they are open all day and had a full menu. The apartment was spotless, it isn't the biggest property so whilst it has 2 bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the living room, it would be on the small side for a family if they were spending time indoors.

Plenty to do, walking in the hills, along the river Wye,, a Wire Mill walk, Tintern Abbey, Tintern Old Railway Station, and the old Water Mill. There is also a pub, ice cream shop, cafe and a local brewery to visit.

A beautiful little town with plenty to explore!
A beautiful little town with plenty to explore! Tintern Abby was the main attraction I wanted to see. It was brilliant and I would have liked to see a bit more than I did. Definitely will book another trip sometime and give myself at least two days to explore the area and its history properly.

Lovely location in Wye valley.
Lovely location in Wye valley. Tintern Abbey well worth a visit (just a pity most of the church isn't accessible at the moment due to conservation work). Pleasant, though steep walk to Devil's Pulpit and Offa's Dyke. Lovely short walk to Old Tintern Railway Station and this is definitely worth a visit.

Many places to eat and drink, such as tea rooms and pubs/ Hotels.
2 venues we used all provided healthy superb tasting food.
We ate in the Tintern Station tea rooms which was a lovely place to eat with history to read about on the old Tintern railway station. Would recommend this tea room.
Wye View was one of our favourite places on our 8 week road trip of the UK and Ireland. The flat was warm and cosy with a huge window overlooking the river. The kitchen was well-equipped, and although there’s no supermarket in the village, everything is pretty close so we found one nearby. We used Wye View as our base for a trip to Cardiff and Cwmbran and we also popped over to Bristol for a gig (only about 35 minutes). Tintern itself is beautiful and the abbey is breathtaking. We’d love to return one day.
The Wild Hare is a very comfortable pub with rooms well located in Tintern, easily accessible from Chepstow and the M4. Cosy room with good facilities and a great lounge area for reading / working with excellent WIFI. All staff were extremely helpful and keen to ensure I had a good stay. Good food although it was the first day of new menu so some options were not yet available and staff were unsure of some details. Breakfast was delicious - wonderful scrambled eggs and local smoked salmon!
What makes this place as outstanding was the friendliness, customer service and fantastic food. Also loved that it was dog friendly and loved how accommodating they were for the pet owners. The bed was very comfortable and the shower room was recently remodeled and very nice. Great use of locally sourced products. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Within walking distance of Tintern Abbey; great footpaths nearby and fantastic views very close
The location was incredible! The photos do not do it justice. 2 minute drive to Tintern Abbey and a lovely pub with a park and field for the kids to play in.
All instructions were left for appliances and general things including what to do in the local area.
Use of towels, bedding, cleaning products and even cutlery & crockery were perfect and made everything so much easier. It was definitely a home from home and we will be back again.
We booked this room by pure chance since we were staying nearby but our hotel didn't have availability for the Saturday. The village of Tintern is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The b&b was very quirky, and the rooms were decorated with so much attention to detail. The owner was a very nice lady who was super welcoming. She recommended a restaurant the wild hare where we had a fantastic meal.
Shepherds Delight is an amazing, well designed shepherds hut in beautiful surroundings with everything needed to make your stay perfect. The location is great for breathtaking walks and not too far to walk for Tintern Abbey. A gorgeous log burner is perfect for those chilly evenings with plenty of wood, or there's an outdoor firepit for those long summer evenings.
Beautiful view over the river. Good facilities, everything you could want in an apartment. Comfy and cosy. Great pub very near just along the road to the left, plus a little village shop. Plenty of walks to enjoy and a couple of choices of where to eat at the end of each day. Easy to find and park thanks to clear directions from hosts. Would definitely recommend.
The whole experience was brilliant. The hotel was superb and the food was excellent. The bar area was comfortable and very well run. The rooms were modern and well furnished and due to the location it was nice and quiet at night. The staff were brilliant and very knowledgeable about walks and local attractions.
We broke our journey down to Cornwall here at Tintern. The staff were very attentive and the hotel was welcoming. We had a good meal in the restaurant and a pleasant breakfast the following morning. Tintern has a number of interesting shops and , of course, the ruins of the Abbey which are worth a visit.
Very comfortable, well appointed room with bath and view. Staff very friendly. Fires in the bar/restaurant made for a warm, welcoming place to spend the evening. Dinner and breakfast were superb. Despite being on the only road through Tintern it was a quiet location.
Great location with plenty of parking. Bar on site with a nice selection of beers, whiskeys, Gins and more. Friendly and welcoming staff. Nice comfortable rooms and amazing breakfast included. Also great food served at the pub. Plenty to see and do in Tintern too.
Lovely home, with nice touches such as fresh flowers cut from the garden, plenty of fluffy towels and toiletries. Lovely view from terrace and super gracious host who offered great advice for local walks and pubs.
Friendly hosts good location with lovely riverside walk to Brockweir and circular via Tintern from path through the church a few yards away. .also nice safe roadside walk to Tintern about half a mile
Well presented, clean and tidy, comfortable with everything you need for a break. Great location for visiting Tintern, the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Plenty of places close by for food and drinks.
Lovely place to stay close to Tintern Abbey and direct River view. Marta is a wonderful host and makes your stay extra enjoyable! Take the chance and reserve a table for a wonderful meal. Thanks!
The staff were super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The hotel is in a great location, close to the river and a short walk to Tintern Abbey. Lovely stay!
Fantastic location close to the river, the hotel was immaculate, the room, restaurant and outside space. And the food! Simply the best meals in a hotel for many years.
Extremely friendly owner, Marta went out of her way to get us settled in our rooms. It was great to leave our car parked there got the day while we visited the Abbey.
