there was one young member of staff who was extremely helpful. He carried the bags to our rooms, went to find coat hangers for us as there were none in the wardrobes ,brought us bottled water to make tea and was really pleasant .
The breakfast was unpleasant plus having written our orders down , none of them were correct .We were only offered one mug of tea for breakfast .
The beds were very uncomfortable ,every time I moved mine creaked .
we decided to have dinner there the previous evening because wed had a bad journey ,due to very bad weather .
We were told we had to order our meal before 5-45 pm ,there was limited choice and the food was not fresh
My husbands pudding was still frozen at the bottom of the dish.
We were then told there was a silent disco later and our table was cleared .
We had not realised the amount of noise from people drinking ,singing and swearing until about 2am

Hello,
Thank you for having me. The location is amazing.
The people working there should improve their skills when talking and taking care of clients.
Also, i couldn’t arrive my first night, i asked for a refund as in the same time i immediately booked another day with them on double price for other day.
Of course they didn’t accept and told me to talk with booking. Booking of course send me to them again.
Thank you!

The hotel is set in Thornbury Castle, which has been refurbished to a very high quality whilst still maintaining the authenticity and feel of a building first constructed in 1511. The food served at both dinner and breakfast was of a very high quality and tasted fantastic! Every member of staff that we met were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the customer care they provided really made our stay very special.

Thornbury is really well placed as a destination: easy to go over the bridge to Wales, or alternatively easy to get to Bristol. We ate in an Italian on the first night and this was fine, and an Indian on the second night and that was good as well.

One of the most beautiful and historic places you can stay not just in the UK but the world .
I have stayed in summertime when the gardens are blooming and in winter when the castle takes on its own ambience.
The staff are amazing and helpful , and the village of Thornbury is only a few minutes walk away .
Every time I am in the South West this is my go to place .
Could not recommend enough.

If you want to treat yourself and be treated like a king/queen, stay here. The castle and grounds are magical, historical, beautiful, lavish, and extremely classy. The room we stayed in was huge yet charming and seriously classy. The personnel are amazing, just SO nice and friendly, not the least bit stuffy. Can't go wrong with a stay here, loved it!!!!

I was actually in Oldbury on Severn which is lovely English village. It has a community shop which was open in the Sunday and where I bought some lovely local eggs and cards by a local artist. Lots of other local goodies were available. They also offer beverages and cakes.
This hotel was booked last minute due to issues with another hotel in Thornbury. The staff were polite and friendly and we were checked in quickly and smoothly. The room was very clean and the area was quiet. We will return to this hotel.
We felt a sense of history in what is a most unusual hotel with lovely grounds. We loved the grounds and we really enjoyed the dining experience at dinner.
