Stony Stratford is a lovely pretty place everything is close to the High Street. There are lovely walks round the town and along the canal and nature reserves close by. All the parking everywhere is FREE. The pubs are great and all within walking distance of each other most of them serve reasonably priced food. There are also some good restaurants along the High Street , Indian, Italian, Chinese, Thai etc. The week i went was Stony Stratford's Festival of Music, Dance and Arts the whole place was buzzing with different things on all day and night and most of them were free. There is so much history to the town.

It is a nice little town with a good variety of interesting shops and a town full of character Plenty of parking nearby.
We didn't eat in any of the restaurants as we stayed with family, but we had an Indian take away which was lovely.

Lovely, characterful coaching town.
Lovely, characterful coaching town. Lots of life still, free parking, lots of shops and pubs/hostels. Great base for exploring Bucks. Would recommend Bletchley Park - so much more to it than we thought.

The town is very quaint with a lot of bars and restaurants to enjoy. There is a lovely park area with a walk along the river with beautiful scenery. An added attraction is that all car parking is free, ad just behind the main street so not far to walk.
There are some lovely gift shops and quaint kitchen shops along the high street as well for individual items you don't often see.

We chose to stay at The Cock Hotel in Stoney Stratford partly because it was near to Bletchley Park where we were visiting, and also because of the famous 'cock and bull story'; sadly The Bull is now closed so we couldn't make a comparison or indulge in making up a story!! Set on the famous Watling Street, Stoney Stratford was a strategic 'stopping off' point for travellers through the ages yet has still managed to retain its old world charm.
There are numerous free car parks and it is easily accessible on foot, so visitors will delight in stopping by the abundance of unique independent shops as well as the Saturday market and the once a month Farmers' market. There is a plentiful number of cafes, tea rooms and pubs too where you can quench your thirst and/or assuage your hunger or you could just stroll along the riverside and take in the views.

Very close to our friends who we were visiting and the hotel has lots of charm and character. The staff were very friendly and helpful, allowing us to put some luggage in their outside barn rather than carry it up to our room (no luggage room available). A good selection of beers, wines and spirits in the bar but (as is usual these days) not enough staff so the waiting time was longer than we might have hoped.
Very friendly welcome from bar staff, I was even showed to my room, which was tastefully decorated. Nice atmosphere in the bar where I felt completely at ease on my own. My room was a decent size, bed was really comfortable, good furniture and an excellent shower room. I had a good night's sleep and a very tasty breakfast. I will certainly stay again when back on business.
The property was well situated in the centre of Stony Stratford, with large on site free parking. Very comfortable room and bed, spotlessly clean. A very good and varied selection for the included breakfast . A comfortable bar and restaurant on the ground floor, with a wide selection on the menu for lunches and evening meals. Will definitely return for future visits.
The room was spacious and well decorated. There was s hairdryer, an iron and ironing board in the room. I was with my 91 year old mother who found the facilities very easy to use. Although there were parties, weddings on while we were there you could not here anything in the room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Easy to find hotel. Desk staffed at all times. It has a reasonable looking breakfast room. The rooms were quiet and overall it felt safe. Overall the hotel met our expectations and we were happy with level of service comfort and price.
