Very friendly team and a clean and nicely appointed room. The whole hotel was very nicely furnished and in a very good location for Oxford.
This historic coaching inn dates back to before the English Civil War. Just 3 miles from Banbury, there is a traditional bar, a restaurant and rooms with free Wi-Fi overlooking the village green.

Comfortable bed in a small single room- next day in a double room not so happy - very small double bed and I originally asked a twin room.
Main lady receptionist not very welcoming.

A gem of a hotel. Located near to Oxford, this old Manor House is in a wonderful setting - you can see why weddings take place here. Super breakfast. Lots of charm and attentive staff. We will be looking to come back soon.

Nice comfortable room, very friendly staff, and an excellent breakfast.
The Duke of Marlborough is a quaint building just outside Woodstock and Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. It offers free parking and hearty, locally-sourced food.

Arrived slightly early (20 mins) but room still not ready, waited a further half hour and were told we would have upgrade to larger room however reception experience not great. Room was clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Evening meal poor, menu incorrectly typed leading to confusion and food overcooked and tasteless. Breakfast buffet very tired looking, bacon inedible, mushrooms tough and fried egg solid as opposed to runny. Overall impression hotel being run on a shoestring with young inexperienced staff and no evident management guidance.

We used this location as it is close to a railway station into Oxford. Parking at the station appeared to be free as we could not find a pay machine.
We also used the Oxford park and ride - it was excellent and very reasonably priced.
I also played golf at Kirtlington (about 10 miles away). Great course and a very friendly club.

book evening meal before your stay.
book evening meal before your stay. We were not able to because of staff shortages so therefore had to travel for evening meal. We would have had it at the hotel if possible as the standard of food for breakfast was great!

The hotel grounds, most facilities, and location were all good - the reason for selecting along with the price. Reservations made via Booking.com, with payment on arrival - for room and breakfast. However, it soon went wrong because breakfast seating (party of 6) was a problem - we were given excuses about too many guests and too few staff - even though they took our money as soon as we arrived. The first two days were embarrassing mainly because of staff attitude (not everyone, thankfully!).

The hotel is not in the village, but on a crossroads about half a mile away. The village did not seem to have much to recommend it. The pub was shut when we walked over, but that is not the point, the hotel is in a central area with lots of places to visit around.
The hotel is in a great location for the local sights. The accommodation is accurately represented in the hotel description. The room, including the shower room, was exceptionally clean and the bed was really comfortable. Having returned to the hotel quite late into the evening, on one of the nights, it was beautifully peaceful outside with hardly any traffic noise, which was surprising being so close to a busy road in the daytime. It is a treat out in the countryside.
The room was extremely clean, freshly decorated and comfortable. Access to fresh air and great shower. Lovely pillows and an appropriate summer weight duvet. The staff were all very professional and helpful. The buffet breakfast was extensive with plenty of choice. I also noticed that the hotel manager took time to look after his team and check in with them which tells you a lot about why the Holt is a great hotel to stay in.
Really pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. We booked the trip at the last minute and choose it because it was extremely good value compared to other hotels over the Easter weekend (and had good reviews). Very nice room and gorgeous bathroom with a lovely view over the garden. Looked like it had been refurbished with good quality furniture and finishes in recent years. Really nice staff at reception.
FANTASTIC hotel, PARKING is excellent always guaranteed a parking space, LOCATION is great. CLEANLINESS of the The Holt Hotel is excellent and Hotel STAFF are lovely and TENTATIVE and approachable. The breakfast is excellent and plenty of it too! Eating at the hotel restaurant the food is excellent, compliments to the Chef.
Very nice hotel with excellent staff and service provided could not do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast buffet was fantastic and plentiful and even did a plate of sausage for my dog! Would definitely stay again.
