Low Wood Bay, hotel in Staveley

In a most spectacular location on the shores of England’s longest lake, Windermere, Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa is the Lake District’s first resort offering a number of facilities.

The room was a good size and the bathroom huge BUT with the tiniest shower with only a rainfall head, due to the tiny cubicle it felt really suffocating, like being water boarded! not enjoyable at all and no hook to put the alternate head up on. Breakfast was good as was the room service food and the views were AMAZING. Felt really unhappy about paying £12/day parking when paying £200 a night for the room. Just seemed greedy and left a bad taste. The weather made the outdoor spa experience incredible, so relaxing. loved every minute of it.

Aphrodites Group, hotel in Staveley

Set in private grounds above Lake Windermere, Aphrodites Group offers luxury themed suites with spa baths or private hot tubs. There is free parking and free Wi-Fi throughout.

A complementary glass of Prosecco to start your stay was a nice touch. Modern room with very comfy round bed. The hot tub was already to use at 37 degrees, and was very relaxing. The spa bath was luxurious too. A large TV with netflix, a great touch. All in all a very enjoyable and relaxing room. The breakfast delivered to your room was also excellent with lots of choice. You won’t be disappointed if you want a relaxing stay.

Nice little village about half way between Kendal and Windermere. By car it is only 10 mins to Windermere and 20 mins to Ambleside. Giving you easy access to the Lake District National Park. The village itself has a Fish and Chip Shop and a couple of nice Pubs. While we were there we had a lovely meal at the Eagle and Child Pub which also has a lovely riverside Beer Garden.

A lovely quiet village set in rolling hills that is not really on the main tourist trek but is easily reached. There is an excellent regular bus service through the village to all the main tourist destinations too. Plenty of walks from the village into the fells.

Staveley is a little hidden gem in the Lake District . Friendly neighbours, interesting history, good food and drink opportunities. Lovely scenery , clean and well kept. Amazing huge bike warehouse local brewery, coffee shop and post office which also has most delicious rolls for a picnic.dont miss the local butchers for local meat supplies.
