There was a bit of a mix up and they don’t normally take dogs in the rooms. As we’d just walked 20miles and our bags had been delivered there they made an exception which was a massive relief. Lovely staff and really great pub food. Nesting seagulls on roof opposite!

Beautiful views, fantastic staff, lovely room and facilities
An absolutely charming and picturesque village. Full of history and character. A treat for photographers and artists. There are lots of options for eating and drinking. There is a very steep hill down to the harbour and back, it may be difficult to manage for some people as there is no vehicular access for visitors.

It is a beautiful village with a maze of quaint meandering streets and lovely cottages. There are some nice walks up each of the cliffs. The views are spectacular.
The car park at the top of the village is where the majority of cars must be parked. To get there it is a very steep climb up a hill for around 400-500 metres. If you cottages says parking is included be careful, as usually this means in the car park at the top of the village up the hill, and not in the village itself.
To the nearest Supermarket (Co-op) it’s around 1km (up the hill, back to the main road and turn left)
Monday mornings in the village are a nightmare as guests try to load their cars and delivery drivers try to drop off

Parking is impossible if you have any problems walking up and down very steep hills as the only carpark is at the top of the hill.
Eating out in the evening is limited to 3 places.
The high street leading down to the bay is quaint but many of the properties are neglected.

Staithes is an amazing little village right by the sea.
Staithes is an amazing little village right by the sea. Very picturesque and with lots of nice places to eat and drink (especially the Royal George) and a lovely Gallery . It's a great central location for visiting the rest of the seaside villages in North Yorkshire too.
The views from the property were outstanding g. We were left chocolates and milk by the host who was so accommodating. The wifi didn't work unfortunately, which was one of our key requirements but the host gave us an extra booster to try and sort out the problem. Sadly it didn't work but what can you realistically expect with foot thick stone cottages? This did not detract from the break or the very pleasant and relaxing experience. Will be booking again, for sure.
What a find, my partner & I had a very relaxing and peaceful stay...
The views, the accommodation, the little touches, tea, Coffee, sugar, milk and a box of chocolates..
We took our three dogs, they loved the enclosed garden and nearby walks (Cleveland Way).
Local hostilery was a gem too.
oh & the bath....
The cottage is very cute, in a perfect location in central Staithes, walkable to all areas of the town. There is a small pub next door and independent shops within a 30 second walk. The cottage has an allocated parking space at the top of the town. The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen. It is dog friendly.
Excellent place to stay, our Room was very clean, nice Decor & Compfortable.
The food at the Royal George is Beautiful,, reasonably priced, good portions and the Steak&Ale pie was a taste sensation.
Would highly recommend Staying at the Royal George, We will most definitely be staying here again.
Amazing lodge for our bank holiday weekend in Yorkshire. Extremely clean, comfortable accommodation in very peaceful location. All that you can hear when you open the window is the sound of the flowing stream and bird chirping. We will definitely be coming back for another stay.
Staithes is a wonderful place full of history and unspoilt. Endevour is in the centre. Although Staithes is tiny. Mountains of food at the St George opposite.
Prebooked parking at Glenvale at top of hill for peace of mind...
Great location at the heart of Staithes, accomodation was very comfortable and hosts made you feel very welcome. We stayed for two nights and we wanted to stay more for the fab breakfasts and rest.
Its a great location, tucked away in the centre of Staithes village with the river, the hatbour, the cliff tops, the shops, cafes and pubs all on the doorstep.
