We have tried to keep the cottage as traditional as possible. Beams are exposed, the sash windows are original, as are the. 3 fireplaces (only the one in the living room can be used for fires!). Despite this, we have added a few modern conveniences such as, dishwasher, phone, wifi, washer, temple dryer, microwave! The cottage has a lovely welcoming feel to it. A lot of our guests are return visitors, with several returning 3 or 4 times a year!. PLEASE BE AWARE BEFORE YOU BOOK - THE CAR PARKING WHICH IS FREE FOR YOU IS AT THE TOP OF THE VILLAGE NOT OUTSIDE. . THE STAIRS TO THE ATTIC ARE STEEP . WE DO NOT SUPPLY COAL/LOGS ETC AS MY HOUSEKEEPER DOES NOT HAVE A CAR . IF YOU NEED THEM PLEASE BRING THEM.WE ALSO DO NOT PROVIDE MILK - SAME REASON - IF THIS IS AN ISSUE PLEASE DO NOT BOOK AS IT CANNOT CHANGE
We bought the cottage in 2009. Structurally sound, cosmetically it was in a dreadful state. We renovated the whole thing ourselves over a period of 6 moths, every weekend and holidays. The cottage is our labour of love. We hope you feel the same way as we do about it. We are always very open to suggestions as to how to improve it, or add anything it may be missing.
The cottage is 1 minute walk from the lovely Staithes beach and harbour.
