Peaceful location, lovely courtyard room with everything needed, including a very comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast and excellent evening meal on the day we chose to eat there. It was nice staying next to the bar - we could have a drink in the evening without worrying about who was going to drive. We're not golfers, but learned a bit about the sport while we were there! Also was great to be so close to the Nature Reserve and able to walk around Rutland Water.

The room was absolutely spectacular, well stocked with teas and coffees and toiletries, the bathroom was so impressively nice, so much larger than I anticipated! The staff was absolutely the kindest, most helpful and attentive hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. The location was lovely and the restaurant delicious. I have absolutely no complaints :)

We have stayed at The George before since we come to The UK to visit my husband’s friends and family. He is British and I am American. The George is a wonderful place in a lovely town and everything about staying here is a pleasure…excellent, attentive staff, food and drink and the surroundings in which to enjoy them and the magnificent chunk of very British history this lovingly maintained property offers. Location near the Burghley Estate house. Great scenery. Ample parking with easy access. Close to downtown shops and restaurants. The meals were included and the food was good. A lovely old building.

Room was super however, there was no heating other than a fan heater mounted on the wall in the bathroom. Might get very cold in the winter was amazed there were no radiators in the room. Also there was an electric towel rail in the bathroom.
