It's a pretty building. The staff were friendly. The spa was nice, a bit hot but I personally liked it, although it could do with a few more loungers. We were given a room upgrade as we were celebrating our anniversary, which was sweet and appreciated. The local sparkling wine was lovely. The lounging spaces were cozy.

I stayed at West Dean College the night before and after Race to the King. Very comfortable room and bed, perfect for a good night’s rest before and after the race. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were helpful and accommodating. They even provided an early morning breakfast for runners the day of the race. Having the chance to walk round d the gardens the next day was the perfect end to the trip.

Breakfast was good, there’s a sports bar downstairs so expect a little noise , fair enough. Clean and tidy and was in reasonably close proximity to our friends party in Earnley. The clincher was that they would do a single night where as most other hotels insist on 2.clean and tidy , good bed and bed clothes etc. It was absolutely fine if not outstanding
