Hidden gem tucked away in the hills of Exmoor, a truly beautiful place that is warm and welcoming as you enter. The staff are very friendly, we loved our room. Great place to stay and rest our weary feet after a days walking. Food in restaurant was very good, lovely menu and at a reasonable price. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Everything was perfect, lovely place ran by lovely people, communication was excellent and the place was lovely, a lot of little narrow lanes and tracks to get to it but I guess that's part of it's charm.

This place is a great combination of traditional and modern. It's a lovely old pub with an atmospheric bar and great draught beer, located in a pretty village. Tucked away in the garden behind are modern and very comfortable bedrooms, well equipped and with good quality shower rooms.
The menus list mainly traditional pub food, simple but superbly well cooked and presented. Brilliant fish and chips, for example.
We also loved the fantastic views over the rolling North Devon hills.
This is a rare find in North Devon and outstanding value for money

Great BnB located close to Exmoor. The room has everything you'll need and it was possible to store a bicycle securely. Alan cooked a delicous breakfast for me even early in the morning. Highly recommend it!

We booked the accommodation for ourselves and our daughter and son in law. As soon as we arrived the place and area looked wonderful. The accommodation is of a high standard with everything you need and it’s central to areas you would like to visit ie watersmeet, Lynmouth , Minehead. We were not that far away from Exmoor which was lovely to drive through and stop to take photos, seeing the wildlife was the added bonus. Where the accommodation was the Exmoor Inn offered food and drink, plus dogs are welcome. We were there the first night and had a lovely meal, the staff were very attentive and professional. We will definitely be back

Everything was way more than we expected.
Everything was way more than we expected. The staff were amazing - all of them not just a few. The owner Ed as really hands on and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was very much home from home with bells on. We felt incredibly comfortable and welcome all the time whilst still being looked after. The hotel is very comfortable and they have somehow managed to create a very friendly homely environment whilst remaining professional and attentive. Very dog friendly which is great. Dogs not restricted at all but you wouldn’t know they are there - no sign of them or smells - immaculate. Of course there are always comments you can make about a hotel, especially when you have been there for 5 days. We can’t please all the people all the time so they say. These guys have got all the right things in the right place. I have been in the holiday let industry for a number of years and I am very hard to please but this hotel ticked every box. On top of this, if you are looking for an escape with amazing walks then look no further. We ate at the hotel every night. The food was amazing so no need to go else where. Gorgeous villages and trails all around but a car is a must if you plan to go out and about. Can’t wait to go back.

Simonsbath is in a valley with the National Park around it.
Simonsbath is in a valley with the National Park around it. Difficult to see the wonderful night sky! The Exmoor Forest Inn was a very comfortable place to stay but if you want choice of restaurants it is not the place to go! Saying that the meals at the Inn were excellent. There are lovely walks around the area.
Exceptionally comfortable room and a very welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is light and bright and elegant without being stuffy.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed talking to other walkers in the separate and relaxing residents lounge.
I noticed that staff went out of their way to accommodate people's food preferences and we're patient and helpful, despite being busy.
A lovely homely hotel set in the heart of Exmoor. After a superb welcome, the bedroom was clean, comfortable and filled our needs. We also had two wonderful evening meals as well as a lovely breakfast each morning. Nothing was too much problem for the of the excellent staff and we really enjoyed our stay. We would be happy to return. The hotel makes a great location to discover the area
We had such a lovely weekend here, the building is a wonderful old Victorian pub/hotel with great spaces beautifully decorated and furnished. We had a wonderful dinner of the owners’ beef & good breakfast next morning. We were walking Two Moors Way which goes past door so perfect location. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was very good. The Hotel was very comfortable & friendly. I could not have asked for more. It was positioned in a beautiful setting & very central for visiting other parts of the National Park. Lovely atmosphere at the Hotel & Manager & staff very friendly & helpful in making our stay idyllic.
This is an exceptional country hotel, it is independent, run by a small enthusiastic team. The cooking is first class, breakfast and evening meal, and the ambience is enhanced by the wood burners in the resident's lounge and the dining area. Brilliant! Also a great spot in the middle of Exmoor.
Lovely traditional hotel with roaring fires of an evening, a four poster bed and stunning views. Very comfortable hotel with excellent customer service and friendliness from all the staff. The restaurant has an extensive menu. Very well located for walking on Exmoor. They offer packed lunches.
Beautiful location with an amazing view of the moors, super friendly and helpful staff who provided a very personal touch to our stay. The evening meals were delicious. The hotel has a fascinating history which Andrew was pleased to share with us. A lovely spot for an away from it all break.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food - both breakfast and dinner with great vegan menu as well! Lovely comfortable rooms and excellent central location in Exmoor for cycling routes or running/walking.
Thank you
The whole experience of our stay at the hotel was absolutely excellent.
The staff were the best we have come across.
Our verdict is that we will definately stay at this hotel again in the near future.
Central location for the activities we wanted to do in Exmoor National Park. Meals were good especially on Sunday and especially Sunday when it was going to be difficult to find someplace open.
