Shipton Moyne is a quiet village 5 minutes drive from the busy and bustling Tetbury. The houses and church are picturesque and the area seemed safe A shop or newsagent at the least would be a good addition to the village.

The bed was fabulous, had a good night's sleep each night.

The bed was fabulous, had a good night's sleep each night. Very well decorated and clean. Staff very responsive. Food good quality. Beautiful village and views to pretty front street from my room. Would advise requesting a front facing room. Very close to Westonbirt Arboretum, which was the purpose of our visit. And the nearby town of Tetbury was worth visiting, with its independent shops and well preserved architecture No vegan options. Promotes hunting, with pictures on the wall about hunting. Nowhere to hang my clothes, just one coat hanger on the back of the door. My room had a bath, but the over shower wasn't working

The Cat and Custard Pot Inn was in an ideal location after our visit to Highgrove. Rooms and facilities were excellent - not a large room but super coffee/hot water machine with plenty of coffee pods and tea bags. Lovely white soft towels and comfy bed. Nothing much in Shipton Moyne to see but very close to Tetbury which is a sweet little town with some quaint and different shops. We did a little tourist trail given to us by the information centre. Good coffee shop which doubles as a bicycle shop too. Probably need a car to get to this place, although I believe there are regular trips to Highgrove - a visit I highly recommend. Maggie our guide was very knowledgeable and very pleasant.

Very good food and drink, but drinks were not listed on the menu so there was no idea of their cost. overall our stay was very enjoyable . Unnecessary & over complicated coffee machine in bedroom when just a kettle would have been more satisfactory. Main gripe was no receipt issued when bill settled, just informed that it would be emailed after we left -- it arrived over 3 days later, after the amount was added to my card account -- and not itemized.

In itself Shipton Moyne doesn't have a lot to offer, except that it has the Cat and Custard Pot. The town is peaceful, quiet and stands out in the cotswolds by not being inundated with tourists. Its a great base from which to visit the rest of the cotswolds. I highly recommend the Cat and Custard Pot Inn and the town itself as long as you are not expecting shops and a nightlife. Peace, serenity and great people are what are on offer here
