The beach is amazing and not too busy.

The beach is amazing and not too busy. I loved the selection of pubs, take aways and shops, everything you need on your doorstep for a short stay. A lot of the hospitality is dog friendly which is great if you’re on holiday with your fur babies like we were. I liked the relaxed atmosphere, there were plenty of buses for people who want to experience the wider area. The California Tavern is very good for food and relaxing near the beach. Breakfast at the cafe/fish & chip shop was also very good. I loved it there and am considering buying a property because it is perfect for my needs.

We had a car and used Scratby as a base.

We had a car and used Scratby as a base. One day we went to the coast the next we went to The Norfolk Broads. Each place offered something different. There is a frequent bus service if you haven’t got a car. Local shops are within walking distance, bakery, ice cream shop. Chinese takeaway. There are 2 food places on site. We didn’t have any, but saw lots and it looked good. Burgers, pizza, breakfasts et .

If you are looking for a family location with a variety of family entertainments, this area is ideal. The beaches are long and flat with golden sands. The onsite swimming pool is fine as long as it does not get too crowded. There are takeaways and arcades close by. The walks along the beach are lovely too.

We went out of season so there wasn't anything open.

We went out of season so there wasn't anything open. We expected that. But to find out there wasn't even a local shop, chippy or pub we was very disappointed. The caravan and Bebe rays was the best part about it.

The beach at Scratby is beautiful - miles of sand and tidal.

The beach at Scratby is beautiful - miles of sand and tidal. It’s a bit of effort to get down to it tho - as Scratby sits above sea level so it’s a winding cliff path. The property is about a mile from the sea but close to local shops.
