Chilton Villa B&B, hotel in Sandwich

Featuring 4-star accommodation, Chilton Villa B&B is situated in Sandwich, 2.8 km from Sandwich Railway Station and 7.2 km from Deal Castle.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Chilton Villa, and it was nothing short of wonderful! As a family, we were immediately struck by how clean, cozy, and well-maintained the property was. The room was spotless, spacious, and had all the comforts we needed for a relaxing stay. The breakfast each morning was delicious, with a great variety of options that set us up perfectly for the day ahead. Fresh, home-cooked, and plentiful – just what you want from a bed and breakfast! What truly made our stay unforgettable, though, was the incredible hospitality of the owner. Warm, welcoming, and always happy to help, they went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. From helpful local recommendations to just being a kind, friendly presence, they made us feel right at home. We can't recommend Chilton Villa enough – it’s a gem in Worth, and we’ll definitely be back. If you're looking for a place with charm, cleanliness, great food, and amazing hosts, this is the place to stay!

Sandwich is a lovely quaint place for anyone liking history also has a river for people who like water or boats. Buses and trains to seaside or Canterbury plus villages in between. Note Wednesday is half day closing for a lot of the shops but small market in square on Thursdays.

Sandwich is a very quaint old town with river and good walks. Plenty of dog friendly pubs and large selection of restaurants too. Had two very good meals at The New Inn and Bella Amalfi. Very easy to walk around with lots of little alleys and side streets.

We stayed one night, but 2 or 3 nights would let you explore more of Sandwich and surroundings. Great to explore on foot- walk around the town walls, climb St Peters Church tower, walk along the river and learn about the history of the town meandering through the streets. You can also book a boat trip up river front the Quay to see the seals- goes late afternoon. We missed out so plan early. Lovely countryside all around, or head to the coast to see Margate, Whitstable or Broadstairs. We loved The Old Pharmacy Bar for cocktails- weekends only.

Sandwich is loaded with history and a past that bears investigation. We were there during the 80th D-day celebrations. We felt the ambience and beauty of an English town steeped in layers to explore. We took a leisurely stroll in the evening around the town walls and read the information on the information boards along that route. It gave a true picture of how much the town had contributed to the development of the are over time. We would like to have stayed a little longer.

Sandwich is a sleepy town, full of narrow streets and a picturesque river side. There is plenty to see, quaint shops and lovely pubs. We went out of season so it was quiet and easy to get around. Summer might be a bit different. We had lunch in The Sandwich Bakery Company, which is family run and welcoming and dinner at the Crispin Inn…great steak and lovely staff.

I cannot fault The Bell Hotel in any way. The staff were excellent and helpful throughout my stay and any wishes or requests I had were met with a smile and action. Very impressed and I speak as a person with a background in hospitality. The food was also superb and well cooked with a wide range of options which as a none meat eater (Pescatarian) I appreciated.

The cottage was excellent for a family group, with high quality furnishings and comfort. The garden is a real asset, enclosed and pretty. The location, quiet but in easy walking distance of the town and station suited us well. Parking permits, travel cot and highchairs much appreciated. We enjoyed staying in Sandwich, thank you for the local recommendations.

Loved the amount of space (only two of us). Very quiet location apart from a lovely chirping moorhen family in the nearby stream. Easy access to shops, restaurants and pubs. Public transport was great, we left the car and used buses and trains which were close by and reliable. Sandwich is a lovely old town and all the people we met were lovely too.

This is not our first choice and we only stayed here to be near to another hotel in Sandwich. We liked the artworks in the rooms and hallways.
