Polzeath Beach House, hotel in Saint Minver

Polzeath Beach House is a new contemporary Boutique Hotel, opened in 2020. Overlooking Polzeath Beach, it is a 2-minute walk down to the sea and large sandy beach.

The apartment was spacious with spectacular views. It was clean with comfortable & stylish furnishings. We didn't do much in the way of cooking as the food in the restaurant downstairs was delicious and a fair price. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the kitchen was fully equipped with the added touch of a pint of milk, tea, coffee & sugar . The staff were polite & helpful. The lift was an added benefit for those who have mobility issues. If you forget your beach towel you can hire them at reception.

The Old Custom House, hotel in Saint Minver

Offering light, elegant bedrooms with luxurious bathrooms, The Old Custom House overlooks Padstow’s medieval harbour. Fresh, local fish and seafood are served in the stylish restaurant.

The location is perfect, right on the harbour front, near all the amenities Padstow has to offer and opposite a public car park. Our room was small but nicely decorated and clean, the bed was really comfy and had good quality bed linen. The quality of the tea tray was excellent and we liked the addition of take away coffee cups. The member of staff who greeted us and showed us to our room was very friendly and welcoming, and the staff at breakfast were also friendly and relaxed and our breakfast was good quality.

    This property is very overpriced.

This property is very overpriced. The garden isn't as per the photos. They have put up a fence meaning you only have access to roughly a third of the garden shown in the photos and this means you DON'T have a sea view unless you stand on the step outside the back door. We also weren't allowed to use the hot tub but weren't told this until we were booking in the day before and we happened to mention how much we were looking forward to using it. The adjoining property is very messy and has lots of building going on. The location is good but I would chose another property to stay at.

There are no onsite amenities so those looking for shops etc wouldn't enjoy it ,but if you are aware of this and like peace and quiet it's ideal quick access to the local beaches ie Rock, lots of nice places to dine if you don't mind a short drive.
