Lovely area but as it is on a peninsular long drive to get anywhere else. Ferry to Falmouth very convenient tho. Huge council car park nearby and we bought a 7 day ticket for £35. Most places under staffed in June 2024. We were on b&b in hotel but options for eating elsewhere limited and expensive. But local fish and chips brilliant.

Excellent place to stay and in easy reach and/or driveable distance to features such as tropical gardens and a nice exploratory walk through the wooded gardens leading to the beach. Also. a visit to the only city in Cornwalll, Truro was interesting with many features. One visit we made was to to a Gold Mine Centre called Togus and free of charge (no entry fee!) not far from Truro

One of the loveliest villages in England.

One of the loveliest villages in England. Thoroughly recommend the walk from St. Mawes to St. Just and a visit to the church there. The Rising Sun is a great little pub for a cheap meal and the Idle Rocks a fantastic restaurant for a not-so-cheap meal 🙂 A visit to a castle is always a bonus and St. Mawes is superb.

Fantastic village, port to explore itself and travel out on the ferry or on bus or foot or car. Ferry’s are great fun and Place, Falmouth and Trelissic Gardens are all accessible by Ferry. Buy a 3 day pass to save 50%. There are 2 castles near by and Falmouth has lots of shops. Parking in St. Mawes is tricky and needed careful planning. Lots of restaurants

A quaint tiny village with the most perfect views out to sea. Lovely walks, enough eateries to accommodate most tastes and pockets. A walk up to the castle is a must, there is a lovely little coffee van that serves excellent coffee and homemade cakes all with the most stunning views

Access to local areas of interest.Gardens, shops and boat trips. It appeared to be such a happy place. The shops were varied and had some interesting local produce. Plenty of places to eat and find a coffee.Everything was in walking distance.

This boutique hotel is all about service. We were made to feel very welcome, our names were on our bedroom doors, and the rooms were lovely and comfortable with beautiful views of the bay. We enjoyed a cocktail on the deck, coffee in the lounge, and a very nice breakfast in their beautiful dining room. It is incredibly peaceful and the public spaces are bright and beautiful. We also enjoyed the quick walk up to the old St. Mawe's fortress.

Beautiful hotel in the bay of St Mews with great views on the harbour. We visited with a dog and were very welcome in the special dog friendly rooms. The bar and restaurant are great with beautiful views. The hotel is just a short walk away from other restaurants and pubs, so perfectly allocated in the village. The room was specious and clean, and the staff surprised us with dog treats. Will visit again!

I booked the accommodation with the intention of staying temporarily while I search for a house in Truro for my new job It turned out to be far better than I imagined. The only downside was the distance from my place of work which has nothing to do with the property itself. I would have loved to stay much longer if it was closer to my place of work. Overall, it was a magnificent place to stay.

The hotel has a splendid position which is matched by superb meals and excellent service. We had a Harbour View room, which was spacious and nicely furnished; we did indeed wake up to the sea lapping against the wall beneath our window! The bar service was also excellent; we never knew there were 3 different types of Manhattan cocktail, and now we do!
