The hotel was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our dog was also made very welcome.Lovely outside eating area with covered patio as well. Restaurant and bar had a great Italian feel to them.
Our room, which happened to be the bridal suite was very large and airy, with an excellent shower. Bed was very comfortable, but maybe a little soft for me.

I had business to attend to but I walked from the hotel to the river Tyne then to Ryton village full of old character properties, a very old church and a medieval pen fold. I ate at a local pub. The road outside the hotel has regular buses between Newcastle & Hexham.

I love Ye Olde Cross, the pub in Ryton Village, about 25 minutes walk from Hedgefield House. Ryton also has a decent selection of shops and other pubs. There are lots of local walks that take you away from the main roads, including Addison Village woods, where an entire village existed and was deliberately destroyed after its coal pit had been exhausted. An inspiring area.
Location was ideal for my requirements The owner, David, was friendly and helpful. My room and bathroom were large, comfortable, bright and uniquely and luxuriously styled. I felt like a guest in a country house home with beautiful grounds and gardens. This hotel is a gem.

The hotel was beautiful inside and out wish we had more time there. Stayed after a family wedding in Gosforth so was really used just for sleeping in. Was gorgeous and the finishings were exceptional.
