It’s position was superb and not only gave us great views to look at but was close enough to walk along the river thank/path as well as into Richmond.

Believe!
Richmond isn't ashamed of exposure that Ted Lasso show has brought them and that is also reason we visited and stayed there.
But the city has a lot to offer in terms of architecture, pubs and a great promenade on Thames.
In short - great place to stay near London and still feel like in a small city.

During my travels through London, I have experienced numerous accommodations, and I must commend the Selwyn Hotel for making a truly remarkable impression. The atmosphere was exceptionally warm and welcoming, a perfect respite following our journey from the States. The comfort of the beds significantly enhanced our first night's stay.
Located in Richmond, the hotel was an ideal base for exploring local sites. The staff consistently extended a warm welcome, making our visit even more enjoyable. The manager personally ensured that we were well cared for, further exemplifying the hotel's commitment to outstanding guest service. Each staff member we encountered was both friendly and professional.
I am eagerly looking forward to my next visit to London, during which I intend to return to the Selwyn Hotel. This stay was a standout experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking exceptional hospitality.

Didn’t get chance to see more than the park but it was worth the stay just for that. We were visiting for a sporting event nearby and we were perfectly situated. The surrounding area looked lovely, very green and clean. Walking in London and seeing wild deer is a must

Unfortuately weather put bit of dampener on brief visit. Great to see Ted Lasso pub (ate there in evening) and various locations. Nice food in hotel bar. Had walk around area but nicer if weather was better.

We were greeted by a friendly member of the team on the reception desk and indeed all our interactions with all staff were positive and friendly. Location is good for exploring Richmond and we had planned to do a lot of walking. As the name implies the Hotel is at the top of a hill which gave us plenty of exercise and some good views along the way.
This was one of the most beautifully stylish hotels we've ever stayed in. The staff that welcomed us were friendly and sincere. There were nice little surprises in the room like carafes of gin and sherry. The bed was like a cloud of marshmallow fluff. Unfortunately, things took a bad turn...
Good spacious room and very accommodating staff. Paddy and Sean et al were extremely helpful. Quiet at night but also enjoyed sharing a pint or 2 with the locals. Breakfast was a lovely start to our sightseeing days to pop into London on the train or driving out to Windsor Castle
It was beautifully appointed, the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. It was a great location for us to- halfway between central London and Heathrow. It was easy walking distance to the local high street, a great pub close by, easy walk to Kew Gardens.
A quiet oasis in London on the river, close to places of interest and shopping. Helpful staff throughout the hotel and fitness centre. Great breakfast choice and delicious. Comfy beds and good sized room with a beautiful garden and tennis courts outlook
It's a friendly hotel in an amazing location. It's handy to have parking, and I've been lucky because it's always been available when I've stayed here. The bigger rooms are bright and have enough space for a small family.
I really thought it was a hotel. I had wanted to stay at a pub that had rooms upstairs. This is exactly that! I loved all the staff, the food, and the accommodations. I really enjoyed visiting with the staff.
My favorite hotel in Richmond with real personality, friendly staff, unbeatable location for town, and great facilities. Family and friends stayed here multiple times.
Location was good, handy for Twickenham as well as tube to central London. Inclusive parking is a plus. Communication with the owners with prompt and clear.
