Very much a place of its own in the broads, very atmospheric...

Very much a place of its own in the broads, very atmospheric location, good local pub all on the riverbank. The ferry is about a five minute walk from the Cockatrice. The village is on the other side of the river about a 15 minute walk from the ferry. The ferry is cheap (50p per person or £5 per car per journey or £7.50 car day return.)

It is a quiet village out in the sticks.

It is a quiet village out in the sticks. There is a small convenience shop and a couple of pubs. If you are looking for larger shops and restaurants, then a 7 mile drive to Acle is a good idea. The Ferry can restrict travelling to the south, as it operates on restricted times and is £7 return for a car. Overall it is a very quiet area to stay.
