The Bridge is a newly refurbished 24 bedroom property in the picturesque village of Prestbury, situated on the bank of the River Bollin.

The property was beautiful inside and out. It is the nicest room we have experienced in a very long time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was beautifully presented. The cooked breakfast selection was excellent.

Hollin House Hotel, hotel in Rainow

Overlooking gardens and fields, Hollin House Hotel sits on the outskirts of Bollington village, within a five-minute drive of historic Macclesfield.

The room and ensuite were a reasonable size, very clean and the bed was large and comfortable. There was also a decent hairdryer and a good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the menu was a bit limited and unimaginative but fine overall - the highlight was the cheeseboard, which was excellent. The buffet breakfast was good, with plenty of hot bacon etc, cereals and fresh fruit, but I would have liked a few more cold, continental-style options.

Shrigley Hall Hotel, hotel in Rainow

Shrigley Hall Hotel, just 15 miles south of Manchester city centre, is an impressive manor house in leafy Cheshire countryside.

Staying at Shrigley Hall was very special for us as the village we are from in Northern Ireland was named after Shrigley Hall. The location is great. Setting is absolutely stunning . The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. We had fun exploring Manchester, Chester and surrounding areas. We didn’t pay to use the Spa but from what we saw it looked amazing. Thanks

Rainow is a beautiful but very small little village with great local walks and beautiful surroundings but limited facilities. When we arrived we were initially led down a closed road by Google Maps and had to work out an alternative way in as there is limited access. Once there we were able to park on the road. There are lots of amazing walks around this area and we used an app to find a 3 hour walk down to a local historic chapel and back. Locally there is a pub called the Robin Hood Inn which is really your only option for going out for food and drink without going further afield. The people there were lovely. Overall I would recommend staying in Rainow for a weekend trip to enjoy the walking and sights but I wouldn't personally stay for a long trip.

It was a friendly inn with activities some nights. Pub quiz and karaoke. It was a bit hard to find when driving and it was a quiet little village so no amenities within walking distance but nice walks into the countryside
