The Longboat Inn, hotel in Penzance

WE ARE NOT A DOG/PET FRIENDLY INN. In the market town of Penzance, The Longboat Inn is right opposite Penzance Train Station and a 5-minute walk from the beach.

Excellent location, super friendly staff, nice old fashioned hotel. Really enjoyed my stay here. Excellent food, so you may want to book in advance to secure a table. 3-4 minutes walk from the railways station and the bus station. Arrived and left by train, but had lots of daytrips by bus. Public transport is amazingly good, both frequent, easy and affordable. With a day pass you can use all the different bus companies. Happy ti recommend and to stay here again.

West Cornwall is a great place for birdwatching and Penzance...

West Cornwall is a great place for birdwatching and Penzance makes a great base from which to go out each day. It has lots of good restaurants and pubs/bars for those wanting them but also the usual stores for provisions if self-catering. There are boat trips from the harbour, a few galleries, cinema and beaches both at Penzance and in other places nearby.

Its a great base for a trip in this area.

Its a great base for a trip in this area. We loved walking along the coast, parking was easy. We visited the Lido for a morning bathe in the sunshine (you need to book this). We walked to Newlyn and drank lovely coffee at Lovells, we ate some beautiful breakfasts - particularly Artists Residence, Lovells and The Honey Pot. We ate tasty food at the Mackerel Sky Bar and Tolcarne Inn in Newlyn, You can easily walk to Mousehole for a delicious cream tea at Four Teas Cafe. We had a drink in The Admiral Benbow and drove around the coast visiting St Ives, Lands End and The Lizard (stopping off at Ellies Soul Kitchen). We visited old tin mines and The Minark Theatre for an evening show. All in all, a great stay and I want to come back and go to the Isles of Scilly next time.

Lots of things to see and do, without having to leave Penzance. If you like walking, there is the sea-front, and some nice gardens to view. There are plenty of public houses. Our particular favourite was " The Seven Stars". We highly recommend " The Smugglers Cafe". They do an awesome cooked breakfast! The locals are very friendly, and helpful when it comes to needing directions. We've visited Penzance twice now, and would go back again, again, and again !😊

Handy for the ferry to Scilly. Can't comment further.

Handy for the ferry to Scilly. Can't comment further. The Dolphin. Good food, reasonably priced. good atmosphere. Booking advised. Open top bus to Mousehole, and around West Cornwall to Porthcurno (spend all day there, unbelievably gorgeous beaches, especially Treen, best at low spring tides, granite cliffs, ) Land's End Complex (hideous, but the coast footpath is sensational), and around.

Nice shopping options with more alternative styles, nice art galleries with local artists. Many cafes and food options, great views, excellent parking, fantastic swimming pool (Jubilee Pool) and awesome promenade with great sea views. Perfect base to explore West Cornwall or go to the Minack Theatre.

The subtropical area was a flower paradise.

The subtropical area was a flower paradise. The weather was perfect no rain but some clouds. There are hills but we figured out the main roads were flat and the promenade was flat. The Lands End Coastal bus will take you anywhere you want to go for little charge. So you can see many sites in a day.

Stayed in this hotel either side of Isles of Scilly trip and it was perfect. Staff were very friendly and approachable. Would recommend not just for a stop over to the Isles but also for anyone wanting to visit Penzance as it was very close to the town/train station etc . Also ideal base for exploring the beautiful places nearby. Great breakfast served daily too. Could order whatever wanted and at a time to suit. Thanks Kate and Roy for making us feel welcome (and not forgetting Bob the dog!).

Breakfast was excellent and location was good as I had a car, but there is a regular bus service into Penzance and the bus stop is right outside the Hotel. Room was clean and warm and had a double bed and one single bed, so good for a family with one kid,
