Tiny, two-room B&B, but with very experienced hostess, so the best of both worlds for me. Parts of the property date back to the Domesday Book, so history fans like me will get a frisson. The (included!) breakfast was superb - the best of this tour - with the best fried tomato I've ever had (from her sister's greenhouse!). Room lovely, garden view delightful, and the proffered cup of tea on arrival all contributed to big-time relaxation.

pencombe is very remote, down tiny country lanes, non confident drivers may find this an issue.
however if you can cope with this the sceenery is great. not much to do in pencombe but very near to major towns, plenty to go and visit within a shortish drive.
