The breakfast was very good although the toaster was unpredictable on the different days- sometimes burning the toast and at others hardly toasting at all. You gave me an accessible room which was great.

First trip to Paignton was 51 years ago, as a teenager my experience of Paignton was far different to those of the latest visit.
Being earlier in the year than my previous visit there fewer people about, but all the businesses were open.
Overall enjoyed our break and have booked to return for a long weekend later in the year.

I was amazed at the value of the £10.00 special offer meal which we had one evening at the hotel. The burger and chips were both very nice and plentiful. We ate in the hotel on two evenings and were happy with the food. Your cod and chips was cheaper than at the fish shop at the end of the pier!

Refer to my review of Marine Hotel.
Refer to my review of Marine Hotel. I stayed at Paignton because it was close to where I had been camping in the area. There is not much to the town, but it has a rail station and a big bus station and the longest beach in the area. All-day bars and casinos are not my thing, sorry. It does have an Italian and a Thai restaurant. Of the towns in the area, Totnes is both interesting and pleasant, Paignton is pleasant and convenient, Brixham is interesting, and Torquay none of those. Coast path for walks is patchy.

There are lovely walks along the seafront, a traditional pier, a harbour with good restaurants and the usual mix of seaside novelty shops and usual High Street retailers. Everywhere is very clean and there are well kept gardens set just back from the seafront.
Children were playing on the litter free beaches and no dogs are allowed on the beach from end May to end September.
The main railway line runs through the shopping area! but from both trains and bus station nearby give access to other areas ie the steam train/river cruise to Dartmouth and Paignton Zoo.

Paignton is a very clean resort with lots of enclosed litter bins. The esplanade and gardens were very well cared for. It has an old fashioned feel about the place and we enjoyed walks on the pier.

Easy transport access to trains buses and ferries to Torquay Brixham and beyond. Steam train attraction. Pretty harbour. Good restaurants. Scenic walks along the coast. The coastal walk to Brixham from Paignton is challenging. Theres a great splash park.Bike night on Wednesdays was a really great attraction. Didn't have time to do everything.
It was right on the seafront with parking . It was comfortable, relaxing and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The dinner service ran like clockwork with enough staff to feel 5* at a 2* small seaside Paignton hotel . The meal was very tasty and 3 courses which I didn’t expect. The room , even though it was dated and not very big , was perfect and had windows onto the side park and the view over the sea . The beds were very comfortable and not soft .
All the ingredients for a good breakfast (eg toast, cereals, fruit juice,...) were available for you to make yourself in the perfectly equipped kitchen. And with a spacious dining room with sea views it was great. Our bedroom had a sea view and we woke up to sunshine and views in the morning. The hotel is just a short walk from the train and bus stations so we were able to get out and about with ease.
The hotel is perfectly located for Brixham and South Devon. The room decor was fantastically unique and the room facilities were superb (and sparkling clean). The hot tub was a big bonus, as was playing with their gorgeous labrador Dexter. Breakfast was top notch. The hotel owners were extremely friendly and really did go the extra mile. It's very rare for me to say this - we'll definitely return!!
The apartment was very clean and comfortable with everything you needed for a short stay. Dave and Kelly were very friendly and helpful. Just a short walk into town and a perfect location as a base for exploring Devon. Parking on site. Dog friendly. We have a large dog and there was enough room for her in the apartment. Paignton itself is very dog friendly too. Excellent value for money.
Nice looking Hotel, plenty of parking, Reception was very nice. Check in was simple. Complimentary tea/coffee on arrival. The room was had everything you would need. The view was amazing looking out over the bay. Breakfast was good and a choice of things, also arrived quickly and hot. Dinner again was good. Several choices. Starters came out very quickly after our order was taken.
Alan & Trish & Gemma has been very kind in hosting us. They took care of every little detail we mentioned. The breakfast was delicious, and so was the location. Cherry Tree Hotel made us like Paignton a little bit more. Alan & Trish even helped us with local sight seeing recommendations. Thanks, Alan and Trish, for making our stay so wonderful.
Room was clean and comfortable and made up everyday. Right on beach with magnificent sea views. Short walk to sea front and Paignton harbour. Ideal location for exploring Devon.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental style, and also a cooked menu.
There was a bar menu and also a restaurant.
Great room, really great breakfast, fantastic hosts who were extremely welcoming. Location of the hotel was good right next to the train station allowing us to travel to lots of other places in Devon. Also plenty of carparking provided by the B&B. Really great holiday, would highly recommend.
Food was excellent and the hotel was very clean.
I was in Devon visiting family so the location of the hotel was perfect. Local area was what you would expect from a seaside resort, some parts more pleasant than others. Good beach for children and plenty of play facilities.
- Room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
- Good amount of free parking at the front and rear of the hotel.
- Easy to get to location and quite easy to explore the surrounding area by foot from the hotel. Only a short drive to explore Torquay as well.
We loved everything about the Queens. We came to visit family who live in Paignton and they were welcomed at the hotel also. We enjoyed the pool and the bar, bingo and entertainment. The staff were brilliant and we would definitely come again. Many Thanks.
The location is fantastic right on Paignton’s seafront. The hotel had a very warm and welcoming feel to it and the staff were very polite and attentive. The hotel had a pool which was a bonus. The bed was really comfortable and the room was nice and clean.
Breakfast was really fine with a large selection of menu to suit all tastes.
The hotel is a family run business, all the staff where very helpful courteous and always on hand to help if needed.
With Covid-19 government guidelines fully followed.
Breakfast was very good location fine we were able to ask for milk water and teabags we asked also for toilet rolls but felt this should have been replaced in our rooms because the hotel is closing in September I feel the owner has lost interest
For the price I didn't expect much, but this hotel is great. A very warm welcoming feeling from arriving all the way through to checking out. A warm cosy (and clean) room with a comfortable bed...........and a breakfast to die for!!
Location was good and the hotel benefited from difficult to access free parking, The hotel was clean, the two staff members I dealt with were pleasant and could answer any questions.
