Never having being there before we were pleasantly surprised to find it such a great place to visit. An excellent department store which is rare in small towns, an excellent deli which has every thing you never knew you needed or wanted and of course the famous Bettys Tea Rooms. All this as well as Pubs and various types of eateries. I would love to visit on a market day which is held on the High Street.

Beautiful Yorkshire market town.
Beautiful Yorkshire market town. Lots of interesting shops and a very vibrant street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Lewis & Cooper's, Barkers and of course the very famous Bettys are all worth a visit. Lots of places to eat including lush fish and chips a Yorkshire favourite.

We came for a Tribute band at the Forum Northallerton,
We were able to walk the 25 minute walk to the venue.
That was very good.
We also like visiting markets and they are dying out but Northallerton exceeded all those thoughts as it is massive and busy, really enjoyed that.
And we had a lovely walk of five miles from Osmotherly and the views were to die for, that was all in two nights stay.

Terrible location, isolated rural, right next to a very busy A19. No food or drinks available. Looks nothing like internet photos or descriptions. More 1 or 2 stars than 4. Unfriendly man in charge, nobody else staying. Magazines in room from 2020, maybe last time it was used. Cold space, no heating in bathroom, chalet not a room. Blocked toilet. Locked the gates at 5:15pm. Felt extremely uncomfortable and left after 30 minutes. Awful experience for a female travelling alone, but for anyone, do not consider.

Have passed through Northallerton many times, not realising...
Have passed through Northallerton many times, not realising what a gem it is. Thriving high street and a Wednesday and Saturday Market. Lots of lovely places to eat, an interesting church and a regular bus service to surrounding towns and villages. Don't miss Lewis and Cooper deli and cafe for local produce!
The Inn is beautifully decorated - obviously very recently. Breakfast was well organised and very good. The room and all areas of the hotel were very clean and tidy. Parking was excellent and access was also good with a lift to upper floors. There were lots of lovely touches like good bathroom products, biscuits by the teamaking equipment and a fan left for hot humid nights. There is also a smart TV in the room so we were able to watch Netflix or Prime using our own accounts. The bed was very comfortable.
Excellent location and although the restaurant food in the Hotel is very good, there is a Wetherspoons across the road serving their full range until 11.00 p.m. which is cheap, super good with a great range of craft an bottled beers - also unlimited coffee and chocolate.
the breakfasts are comprehensive serving porridge and fresh fruit,as well as a full English
Pop They also have an orange squeezer for fresh juice, but it was not operational during my visit— I was told a spare part had been ordered
.
This is possibly the nicest place we've ever stayed as a couple (with our dog). Everything was spotless and the barn smelled amazing--a weird thing to comment on, but it really made an impression. The space is big and open and we loved the mezzanine sleeping area. The bed was super comfy, everything actually worked in the bathroom (and the shower didn't leak!) and the kitchen was well-equipped. Underfloor heating was a nice touch and the gated area in front was great for the dog.
Located in Northallerton, the Allerton Court hotel was an ideal location as a stop off after touring Scotland on a motorcycle. All the staff were welcoming and friendly and happy to help. The hotel has a bar that is well stocked, and the menu had plenty of choice. The food was of a high standard and I enjoyed the whole experience of staying in this hotel.
A wonderful B&B, the Four poster bed was so comfortable, the room was very spacious and equipped very thoughtfully - e.g dressing gowns, slippers and a hot water bottle.
Our hosts were very accommodating and made us feel so welcome.
The breakfast was delicious too, especially the homemade preserves!
We would definitely recommend the Porch House
We liked the quality of our dinners, which was very high. The food was excellent and served in a very pleasant dining room. The service was friendly and the atmosphere laid back. Our bedroom was a good size and well decorated. The bathroom was particularly spacious and well appointed. The hotel itself has a nice old world charm.
Clean and spacious for a family. Quiet. Excellent location for going to the polar express which was the reason for our visit. Used the bar at night for a couple drinks and bar snacks. Food was lovely in particular everyone liked the fat chips! Northallerton isn’t too far too which has loads of shops, restaurants etc
Breakfast excellent. Plenty of parking. Good Wifi signal. The location is lovely - the hotel is set in its own grounds in the countryside but is conveniently sited for the areas main tourist attractions or even a trip to the coast. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful. Easy access to M1 or A19.
Friendly and welcoming hosts. Spacious, modern accommodation. We stayed in the family room. Food was very tasty and excellent value and the beer was well kept. Well placed for the Coast to Coast walk. Would definitely recommend it to other walkers, cyclists, tourists, visitors.
This was my second stay at Porch House. Christine and Charles are the perfect hosts. So friendly and accommodating . First class room and great Yorkshire breakfast. Will definitely be back.
Northallerton has some great shopping.
Staff member on shift on his own at about 4.40pm very professional-helpful and polite. He had a stream of customers and remained calm and unflustered.
Hotel had a good atmosphere-nicely decorated and plenty of seating areas.
Very comfortable bed, excellent meal and first class service. Ideally placed for visiting North Yorkshire, just 2-3 miles outside of Northallerton. Have stayed many times and as expected, high standard maintained.
Large room with a big comfy bed. Nice and quiet at night and very warm. Plenty of facilities and lots of space outside for parking which is always a bonus. Good location, nice pub just down the road.
Perfect location for us. Visiting family in Northallerton. Easy walk into the town centre. Quiet street backing onto fields with everything you could need in the rooms. Great cooked breakfast.
Bedroom had some very thoughtful touches such as a mending kit. Bedroom was clean and quiet as it was one of three at the back of the property with a terrace area.
