Superb breakfast in the Inn next to our lodge. Great lunches too, and superb dinners. The location of Hunters Inn is really gorgeous, in a valley that leads to the bay. The Hunters Lodge is a self contained accommodation with a little bridge and veranda. Nicely decorated and furnished. Lovely garden view from the lounge window. Couldn't improve on it.
Located in Combe Martin, 1.3 km from Combe Martin Beach, The Pack o' Cards provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

We booked the St Vincent Guest House only two days before visiting as a last-minute break for one night with my wife and our dog. We hadn't looked at other reviews, so we arrived with an open mind. We actually arrived early, but the hosts were very accommodating and made us tea/coffee while we waited a few minutes for the room to be ready.
The garden out front is very pretty and dog-friendly, with a gated entrance and secure perimeter. The room was very nice with a four-poster bed. The mattress was very comfy, and the room was clean and welcoming with an en-suite.
The hosts gave lots of advice about where to eat that evening and also advice on a walk that we were going to undertake. We ate at the local Crown Inn and returned to the St Vincent Guest House early as we were tired from the walk. We both slept extremely well and woke early.
Breakfast was very good with choices of cereal, fruit compote, fresh juice, tea/coffee, etc., and a fully cooked breakfast catering for vegetarian/vegan, etc. They also asked if we wanted a sausage for the dog, which he was very pleased about. The hosts also talked about some of the history of the building, which was fascinating.
I'd definitely return and have already recommended the place to friends and family.
Ideally located for a trip to the North Devon coast.
Ideally located for a trip to the North Devon coast. There's ample opportunity to walk and explore within a short distance. From the flat expanse of the beach at Woolacombe , to the towns of Ilfracombe, Combe Martin , Lynton and Lynmouth. Then there's the miles of tracks along the coast and on Exmoor itself. An interesting National Trust property can be found at Arlington court.
More than this. You can walk from your front door. Pack your backpack and off you go. Fuel up well with breakfast though. As the terrain can be challenging. Very steep gradients can lie around every corner.

This is an area of outstanding beauty. The Hunters Inn is in a prime location for stays, and walk in trade. The cost of the rooms and food is far too high, whilst more financial reward reward should be given to a superb staff group. My partner cried when we left mainly due to the fact that this is a most beautiful area. The air you breath is lovely ,our dog Rosie a Springer Spaniel loved it and dog lovers will adore this beautiful area.

The hotel is very comfortable, very clean and very friendly.
The hotel is very comfortable, very clean and very friendly. As a pair of elderly widowers the walking immediately around the hotel was somewhat challenging, but a short drive gave access to many more accessible walks and places of interest. There are excellent walks in the immediate area of the hotel for more competent walkers and the hotel owners provide plenty of detail for these. For those who like Thai food I would recommend the Cottage Inn at Lynbridge - the landlord brews "Fat Belly Beers" and his wife comes from Thailand and is an excellent cook.

Beautiful area with easy access to Clovelly, Watersmeet, Lynton and Lynmouth, Porlock Dunster etc.
We loved the cream teas at No1 Lynton. Exceptional homemade scones and the cherry jam was amazing. Very friendly owners.
We also loved The Smugglers in Ilfracombe
We planned to stay at the Hunters Inn to break up the long Lynton-to-Combe Martin stretch on the South West Coastal Path - and so glad we did! This is a beautiful, peaceful rest stop nestled in a lush valley - the pebbly beach is only 25 mins walk from the hotel so you can go swimming if the weather's good enough. The hotel is beautiful and our room was very big and comfortable. We even had a peacock at our window to welcome us!
This hotel is in a beautiful setting, giving you the opportunity to get away from it all. We were given a large, quiet and comfortable room. The furnishings were good quality and worked beautifully.
The staff were all very attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast and our evening meal were both cooked to perfection.
We're already planning a return visit.
Location very peaceful with the sound of the stream and birds and wind in the trees. Good for walking with paths to the sea and hills from the hotel's door. We had a superior room which was large, well furnished with a large bathroom. Excellent shower and claw footed bath. Relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast good and views from the table of the garden and hills.
The breakfast was lovely, perfectly cooked eggs and breakfast meats.
I chose Hunters Inn as it was an ideal location near the Sw Coast Path. What I found was beyond my imagination. My room was beautiful with views of the garden , and a fabulous claw foot tub. Perfect after a long walk. And the staff were friendly and skilled.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and the location was perfect for us. We felt very comfortable being there with our dog and the hotel was exactly as expected and presented on the website 🤗👍.
Great location, walks were amazing. Hotel nice, good polite staff, food was OK, breakfast better then dinner. We enjoyed the location more than anything. Warning, very narrow roads to the hotel.
Beautiful hotel, stunning room although could have done with sweeping out some of the creepy crawlies and cobwebs in certain corners! Excellent dinner and breakfast.
The quality of the food was extremely good in terms of value. The hotel is extremely pet friendly. The extension with glazed views to the gardens was an extra bonus.
