The view. The welcome. The gorgeous comfort and room facilities especially fresh milk for tea and tasty homemade biscuits. Delicious breakfast perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Tempted by the in house bar and garden. View is one of the best in Britain. The dawn chorus. Every detail taken care of.
Lovely host, very helpful. Easy to walk out to 'the Cleave ' and on down to the coast path along 'The most beautiful walk on the coast path: Lynton to Woody Bay and back totheValleyofRocks. .The
Excellent local food. No.10, the Crown, North Coast Cafe, Fresh seafood in Lynmouth.
Great cafés, restaurants, pubs, shops and museums.
The water powered cliff railway.
Ideally located for a trip to the North Devon coast.
Ideally located for a trip to the North Devon coast. There's ample opportunity to walk and explore within a short distance. From the flat expanse of the beach at Woolacombe , to the towns of Ilfracombe, Combe Martin , Lynton and Lynmouth. Then there's the miles of tracks along the coast and on Exmoor itself. An interesting National Trust property can be found at Arlington court.
More than this. You can walk from your front door. Pack your backpack and off you go. Fuel up well with breakfast though. As the terrain can be challenging. Very steep gradients can lie around every corner.

This is an area of outstanding beauty. The Hunters Inn is in a prime location for stays, and walk in trade. The cost of the rooms and food is far too high, whilst more financial reward reward should be given to a superb staff group. My partner cried when we left mainly due to the fact that this is a most beautiful area. The air you breath is lovely ,our dog Rosie a Springer Spaniel loved it and dog lovers will adore this beautiful area.

The hotel is very comfortable, very clean and very friendly.
The hotel is very comfortable, very clean and very friendly. As a pair of elderly widowers the walking immediately around the hotel was somewhat challenging, but a short drive gave access to many more accessible walks and places of interest. There are excellent walks in the immediate area of the hotel for more competent walkers and the hotel owners provide plenty of detail for these. For those who like Thai food I would recommend the Cottage Inn at Lynbridge - the landlord brews "Fat Belly Beers" and his wife comes from Thailand and is an excellent cook.

Beautiful area with easy access to Clovelly, Watersmeet, Lynton and Lynmouth, Porlock Dunster etc.
We loved the cream teas at No1 Lynton. Exceptional homemade scones and the cherry jam was amazing. Very friendly owners.
We also loved The Smugglers in Ilfracombe
We planned to stay at the Hunters Inn to break up the long Lynton-to-Combe Martin stretch on the South West Coastal Path - and so glad we did! This is a beautiful, peaceful rest stop nestled in a lush valley - the pebbly beach is only 25 mins walk from the hotel so you can go swimming if the weather's good enough. The hotel is beautiful and our room was very big and comfortable. We even had a peacock at our window to welcome us!
The location of the Hunters Inn is stunning - in a beautiful, quiet wooded valley, a short walk from the sea and the South west Coast Path, a babbling stream runs through the grounds. We awoke to the loudest and most beautiful dawn chorus that I have ever heard in this country.
The Hotel is characterful and has been modernised recently. The bedroom was large and very comfortable. A perfect resting point on the SWCP journey.
Hunter's Inn is a beautiful well-kept property in a stunning location. The room was comfortable, spacious, had all the facilities you would expect from a hotel of this age and price bracket, and was very well presented. The staff, although young and relatively inexperienced were very helpful and enthusiastic.
The hotel was clean but clearly when we stayed there they were short-staffed. The Hotel was ideally located for us on the South West Coastal path, but was one of the most expensive we stopped in during our two week walk.
Stunning bedroom with gorgeous bathroom, including free-standing bath. Much bigger than the average hotel room. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble.
The location was good and the hotel was comfortable enough even though it was looking a little tired from the outside. The menu was passable but no more than that.
