The hotel is beautiful, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Would love to stay here again, but in a bigger bed. Breakfast was really good, loads of choice, as were the cocktails.
Ideally situated in the New Forest, close to the small town of Lyndhurst, this friendly hotel is set back from the road and offers quality accommodation at affordable prices.

Although classed as a budget room it was actually very good. Comfortable bed, light and airy and refurbished shower room. I had dinner - really tasty, well-cooked food. Staff were all lovely and friendly. Breakfast got a 10/10 again tasty and well cooked. My dog was welcomed too. Car parking easy.

Lovely old pub - comfortable bed - very friendly staff.
Food was excellent and it was super dog friendly.
I love Lyndhurst . I love the little cemetery just past Bolters Bench.
Walking my dog along the foot paths which are never muddy.
Lyndhurst is central to visiting lots of other places being just a short drive away.
I love the high street and its various array of shops, restaurants and good pubs.
Lyndhurst captures a time past and is always relaxing and hassle free.

The Bell Inn is several miles from Lyndhurst in the beautiful New Forest; lovely walks over heath and woodland and, if you're lucky, you'll encounter ponies, donkeys and pigs roaming free locally; drive carefully!

Lyndhurst is a great place to stay for exploring the New Forest. It has a good mix of interesting shops and restaurants and a good sized car-park in the centre.
That said, it can get very busy and there can be traffic queues in high-season since it is a bit of a bottleneck. So I'd recommend visiting slightly off-season.

What let it down for us was the lack of options for gluten free breakfast no cereals no fruit no yogurts then when we did get breakfast it was cold toast rock hard it wasn’t even busy only us two for breakfast
We wanted to order gluten free fish and chips but fryer broken so was limited on evening options but what we did order was tasty I must say I was impressed by the staff knowledge on g/f intolerance and allergies.

Lyndhurst has some interesting shops particularly the antiques emporium and some nice pubs and restaurants and the Anglican church of St Michael's where the original Alice who was the model for ''Alice in Wonderland''was buried.
I went to the Passage to India Indian restaurant which is quite near to the Penny Farthing hotel.
There is a Ferrari showroom if you want to check them out but the cars are very expensive.
The staff were all great, public rooms are lovely, gives a real sense of history and lots of cosy areas to sit in. The location is beautiful and I'd like to return in the summer when the garden is in flower. Due to one of our grandsons testing covid positive they could not join us, the hotel have generously offered us a voucher to use in the next 12 months to cover the cost of the non refundable family room. We're look forward to visiting Bartley Lodge again. Enjoyed being met on arrival by a New Forest pony at our car window.
This is my second time staying at the Beaulieu hotel. we love it to much! The staff are incredible and so helpful, the rooms are all a little different modern and clean, the location is lovely! we like to go for a walk around the surrounding of the hotel and there are always so many horses! We often head into lydhurst for food- we like “the new forest inn” wonderful food and pub. however this time we had dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel! it was lovely and looked to be located in an old stable!
The Stag Hotel was excellent. Great facilities, very clean. Plenty of space and a lovely staff team. The food in the restaurant was also excellent. We really enjoyed the pie of the day as well as lunch offerings and the breakfast that was included in our stay was consistently very good. We didn't bring our dog, but over our 3 day stay many people brought in their dogs. It was very dog friendly, they even offer a dog menu for a Sunday Roast!
It was close enough to the main streets of Lyndhurst. Everything within walking distance. Everything needed was supplied, the room is clean, bed comfortable, enough drawers and cupboard for our things and coffee and tea facilities are nicely presented in the room. The breakfast was worthy of any good hotel and the hosts are very attentive.
An amazing looking hotel not at all what I was expecting in an excellent location, easy to reach via public transport. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. Lovely clean room and comfortable bed. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and the restaurant menu is well worth a look.
A clean, fresh, warm, very well run establishment with the friendliest and most professional of staff. Excellent well kept cellar and excellent food. Genuinely dog friendly. To stay at The Stag, is to feel comfortable and welcome. I highly recommend The Stag Hotel.
Located in the middle of Lyndhurst the hotel was a great base for exploring the New Forest. The staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable and had everything we needed. We also had dinner in the hotel one night and the food was delicious.
We have stayed in the New Forest a number of times and we like to be near Lyndhurst and this hotel is perfect for that. It was lovely and clean we had a family room which was very big and the service in the bar and restaurant was very very good.
All the staff team were really helpful and friendly. Our dog was given a sausage for breakfast each of the five days. The full breakfasts were just right. The location is really near Lyndhurst main street. Splendid!
Location was great, 2 min walk in Lyndhurst and far enough from the main road to enjoy a peaceful lie in.
Lovely walk in woodlands for your dog & the hotel was exactly what they said, and dog friendly.
Great room, great staff, great food. We will definitely return and are planning a group visit with some friends for some golf and Spa. The hotel is exactly what we wanted and matched the descripton.
Friendly staff, great location, beautiful room, we had a jacuzzi bath was amazing.
Only downer was the breakfast. Wasn’t great. But overall really good hotel.
Would defo return.
I really enjoyed the peace and quiet of this place. The hotel was lovely and very clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was great too!
