The owners were very accommodating as we weren't going to get to the property to well after midnight due to going to a wedding during the day, they had left a light on for us so our lodge was easy to find and a key code box to gain entry - Perfect. There was a very good kitchenette within the lodge which was stocked with all utensils, crockery etc that you could need - so we made our own breakfast. It was very clean, tidy and little touches made it homely.

Well-made wooden lodges with excellent showers and good cooking facilities (sharp knives). The Witch's hut barbecue was a huge hit with the children. The host, Mark, took time to make sure we were settled in and ready. There is lots of space for play, a croquet set, football field and some bikes for loan.

We ate at the Bull Inn in Long Melford the saturday evening which I would really recommend, food, staff, building could not be faulted.
Breakfast was good but it would have been nice to have a menu so you knew what options there was and the tables set up ready with cups /cutlery etc.
I wouldn't return because of the cleanliness of the room

Long Milford is long!
Long Milford is long! It’s a beautiful and striking place with a wonderful church and green at one end and a long engaging street which takes you to the other. Milford Hall sits near the church and is a National Trust site well worth a visit. Classic Suffolk architecture runs down the high street.

We have visited Long Melford before a few years ago.
We have visited Long Melford before a few years ago. It is a nice place to travel to. Some shops have closed but it is still interesting with its Pubs and Cafe's. Plenty of little villages and towns to explore while staying there. We were able to reach places of interest during that time.
Not far from us in Essex and Hertfordshire with lovely changes of scenery.
Very relaxing weekend.

It is as lovely old village, 3 miles long with some vey interesting period buildings. Our highlight was the Abbey Church at the top of the hill; one of the top 3 churches in England and Melford Hall, a gem of a NT property. We sent hours exploring the hall, listening to the guides and search out the references to Beatrix Potter who was a frequent visitor. We also chose to stay there because of its proximity to Lavenham, one of the prettiest villages in England, a MUST visit village. Long Melford has a great range of hotels , pubs and bars, you can choose to spend what you like. We eat in the Cock and Bull where we obtained two main meals for £14.00, excellent value, extensive range and served piping hot.
Amazing stay once again. Lovely little village with lots of places to eat. Accommodation is pure luxury with such attention to detail from the home made cake to the little ducks for the bath if you can find them. Just park your car up right outside your room and explore. Lovely hosts that look after you and cook you a fabulous breakfast. If your thinking about it don't just book it you won't be disappointed.
The lodge is very comfortable and has everything you need. It's very relaxing to sit in the garden and spend time watching the sunsets. Long Melford is a lovely town with lots to see and do in the area. Kayaking near Sudbury, cycling on the disused railway and plenty of walks. Would definitely recommend this accommodation. The complimentary breakfast items were much appreciated. Thank you.
Beautiful quiet location right next to the village green and near the amazing wool church. We were told breakfast would be ‘continental’ but don’t let that put you off - it was absolutely fantastic, with fresh pastries, toast, Lancashire bomber cheese, confitures and yoghurt.
The hotel is beautifully designed and very dog friendly too.
The room was in an annex at the rear of the property, so there was hardly any road noise. It was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The property is situated in the heart of Long Melford, a very attractive village with lots of independent shops and two large and excellent antique centres.
It was a beautiful property and provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay in long Melford during our visit with family. The yard is beautiful. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of things to cook with. The beds are comfy. They provided a few games for the kids. It was a lovely stay.
Absolutely perfect in every way. Short walk into Long Melford where there are several places to eat and drink. Hosts were fantastic and very accommodating. We loved our stay and would certainly recommend it for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
Excellent location quiet and private. Fabulous host who went out of her way to help us. Accomodation was so lovely, spotless and had absolutely everything you could need, warm and cosy. We loved it and would highly recommend a stay there if in the Long Melford area
Room was luxury. Wood burner a bonus. Breakfast was a good choice and excellent. Recommend pancakes.Paul and Clare excellent hosts. Lot's of information on the Mill and Long Melford. Can't wait to go back sometime in 2023. We highly recommend The Mill.
The location and accommodation was lovely. It was peaceful.
Fresh milk in the fridge was great.
Also a short walk (just over a mile) to Long Melford for a decent curry at the Onion Bhaji.
If there were any issues Bruce was always on hand to help.
The location of the hotel is perfect and within walking distance of everything in the village. If you want a luxury hotel this is not for you, but if you are looking for a basic, warm, clean central hotel with good service this is perfect.
Beautiful location and surroundings, just a walk across the fields to pubs and cafes of Long Melford. Tastefully decorated. Friendly owner who greeted us upon arrival. Nice enclosed area outdoors where we had breakfast.
From the welcome by Paul through to the stylishly decorated room, beautiful breakfasts, proximity to Melford Hall, and the Long Melford hostelries.. I can honestly say that we had a first-class break at the Mill.
Breakfast was ok. It wasn't clear exactly what was available but what we had was fine. This is not the plushest of hotels but as a value for money experience it fated very good. Dinner was good value for money.
great staff working hard to welcome guests.
cosy room with historic feel.
fantastic food.
great atmosphere in and around hotel.
definately reccomended if staying in the area
Very welcoming hosts, comfortable bed and great breakfast. Location was peaceful but really handy for Long Melford high street. Lovely Victorian school house conversion.
Breakfast selection excellent. Honeymoon suite good . Dinner excellent.
