Set in the picturesque village of Long Melford in the heart of Suffolk, we celebrate all that is great about our fantastic region – its people, provenance and personality.

Gorgeous location in a quiet Suffolk Village. The building was beautiful and ideally decorated. We didn't use the restaurant but the menu looked good (we were meeting friends elsewhere). Bar was well stocked and staff very helpful. We upgraded and had a beautiful and large room. Bathroom was a little less decadent than the rest of the hotel but clean enough. We used our own toiletries but good to see environmental impact was thought about. TV was odd and difficult to use - usual channels didn't seem available and if we tried Netflix or any of the other apps, none of them worked, so we turned it off and just had music playing on our phones. Comfy bed, and tea/coffee available, so all good. We loved it. *worth mentioning that had we paid full price I would have felt it a little expensive, but I had a Booking.com credit and so actually it felt like a bargain.

The hosts were welcoming, friendly and fun. They chatted and shared places to go, we sat one evening with them and it felt like we were staying with friends. Ancient architecture, huge fire place, lovely gardens to sit in. Highly highly recommend. We are going back for sure. Fresh food, wide variety, good coffee…. And two gorgeous cats. Loved it!

Very friendly hosts Kay and Kevin; greeted with coffee and biscuits on arrival. Television in bedroom but we joined them in the lounge in the evening to watch TV with them and chat. The cottage was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and cosy. The bed was very comfortable and the linen and towels had a real luxury feel. The cottage had everything we needed for a weekend away and bread, butter, marmalades and milk were provided which was a nice added bonus. The bathroom was amazing! Big freestanding bath and large shower. Long Melford is a lovely quaint town with several pubs, shops and cafes and a perfect starting point to explore Sussex.
