Not much, poor quality for the high price. Bits and pieces in the room are electronic and did not work properly.

The Tower Hotel, London, hotel in London

Nestled between the River Thames and St Katherine’s Dock, and next to Tower Bridge, The Tower Hotel, London offers ideal location, a restaurant, a bar and a fitness centre.

Breakfast had a good choice, well presented and cooked well. Could not fault. The room was what was expected and met my needs for a 2 night stay. There was a problem with the plumbing as when the bath was emptied it came up through the drain on the bathroom floor which was then flooded. I reported to the front desk and they addressed the issue that day. Issues occur in any hotel but i was very happy how they rectified the situation promptly.

London is easy to get around.

London is easy to get around. Paddington is perfect for accessing all the attractions. You can use a debit card on the bus and underground, so no need to buy tickets. The heathrow express is 3 minutes away and takes 15 minutes. All the big museums are 30 minutes walk through Hyde Park and free to access. I would recommend visiting the Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park for contemporary art.

London is a fascinating place with lots to see.

London is a fascinating place with lots to see. There are great restaurants, cafes and pubs everywhere. The tube makes getting around the city very easy. We visited Covent Garden and went to the theatre there. The Christmas lights and decorations were breath taking. 'The Tempest' at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane was wonderful. I feel we barely scratched the surface of what was available and will definitely return.

Museums free of charge is a huge plus.

Museums free of charge is a huge plus. Spectacular landmarks, but not easy to go around London for a tourist. Cash payments are not welcome anymore. The transport system is complicated and very expensive, not clear what is the cost of any trip with the subway until you see the bill of your credit card. Food in the pubs is generally not good

The historical and cultural sights were awesome. A variety of foods was available. We ate at a Greek restaurant near Camden Town Hall that was excellent. We had to wait for a table, but the food and service was worth the wait.

I've stayed at the Balham Lodge on previous occasions. It's a cheap'n'cheerful spot in part of London where I have a good friend, so although it may appear a bit off the beaten track, it's actually easy to reach on public transport and a nice, quiet locale. Unusually for cheap hotels/b&b-s in London, the rooms (at least the ones I've stayed in) have decent-sized bathrooms and good quality showers. Facilities are clean, fairly basic and no one could reasonably expect any more at these prices.

The hotel was clean and the room was spacious. We picked this hotel as it was considerably cheaper than similar hotels in Central London. We felt like we made a good choice, you reach central London in no-time with the Thameslink and the station is literally just around the corner. The staff was very friendly as well. Greenwich itself was also cozy and there were some nice restaurants around. There was also a good supermarkt nearby. If we would go to London again, we would stay here again :)

Beautiful apartment in a lovely part of south London. Very quiet despite being so close to Balham high street and the train station. Lots of room for everybody, lovely bathrooms, comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Excellent communication with Andy and Georgia. We picked this apartment as it was close to where our daughter works in London. We’ve stayed at many hotels and apartments in the 3/4 years she has lived there and this has definitely been our favourite.
