Lovely room with some unique and personal touches. Gorgeous bathroom and coffee, tea, water and biscuits in the room - with some real milk in the mini fridge. Gemma was very helpful and came out to sort a small problem even though it was after 9pm

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated The Old Vicarage offers accommodation with water sports facilities and free WiFi.

Breakfast was lovely, freshly prepared and tasty. I had toast, porridge and scrambled egg with smoked salmon with a lovely little fish shaped piece of toast on top ( I was staying for a fishing break!) freshly brewed coffee and crisp linen napkins.

Top of the Rock Glamping, hotel in Llanidloes

Situated in Trefeglwys, 10 km from Maesmawr Golf Club and 18 km from Womaston Castle, Top of the Rock Glamping provides accommodation with access to a garden.

Stunning location, fabulous accommodation. Local farm produce and bbq equipment available for purchase on-site (on the pricier side however as it is locally sourced). Cabin well equipped with a small fridge, microwave, kettle, tea/coffee facilities with cutlery and mugs, and a lovely little electric fire for when the chill set in. Private bathroom had shower/sink/toilet. Towels supplied. Overall very clean given the working farm location. Nearby there are places to eat (recommend the Red Lion only a 2 min drive/10 min walk away). Julia was very helpful and welcoming. There are information sheets in the cabins also with useful numbers/instructions for the cabin and nearby points of interest. No Wi-Fi at the property - for us this was a bonus! A true getaway to the Welsh countryside.

Maesmawr Hall Hotel, hotel in Llanidloes

Maesmawr Hall is situated in the beautiful Severn Valley, 8 km from the market town of Newtown and 1.6 km from the village of Caersws.

Standard choice of food for breakfast, but cooked breakfast (especially bacon) was very tasty, I believe local produce.

Location very good. Right next to river. Lots of choices at breakfast. Very nice. Room very clean. Only fault was shower needs attention. Very stiff controls and had to stand to one side as was too hot to stand underneath once you managed to move control

A nice little town with some interesting shops, old pubs and nice places to eat. However quite a few places did not provide food Tuesday and Wednesday evening. A good location for driving to Hafren Forest and walking the Severn Way.

Llanidloes is a beautiful little town in an area surrounded by stunning scenery and landscape. It was some very useful facilities for the traveller. A coop supermarket for a larger shop or a Spar smaller shop for a convenient shop. There are a few takeaways on the high street which are good. I didn’t use the local pubs so can’t comment but they all seemed to serve food as well. If you’re looking for an action packed town with a busy night life it certainly doesn’t have that. If you are looking for a quiet stay in an area that feels very safe this is the place. It also has a laundrette with self service washing machines and tumble dryers just off the high street which are very useful for anyone who is travelling and staying in different locations. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Llanidloes is a lovely part of wales with the river and reservoir featuring so strongly. Local hotels/pubs were both welcoming and exceptional value for money. (Local welsh ale in hotel bars was £3.50 a pint) May 2024 which may give you an idea of the value. The fishing at the reservoir is exceptional and again very good value.

Llanidloes is a delightful town, with a good array of bakeries, cafes and other eating places. People ate very friendly. Very convenient for hafran forest, severn way and glyndwrs way. With lots of beautiful scenery around. However, Mondays are very quiet, with several places closed.

Nice little market town that is recovering from Covid closure. Wonderful butcher in the old market in Royal Oak St. With the River Severn running through the town there are some very lovely parts of the town. The Red Lion is a good pub with great beer and bar food. The Raj Mahal was super for curry. The Spar shop had everyday stuff and there are some super locally owned specialty shops and galleries. There are good EV chargers in the Mount St carr Park.

Lovely, surprising place. Out in the middle of nowhere but with plenty of facilities and lots of independent shops and cafes. Beautiful countryside with the Severn running through the town. Lots of sheep - I love sheep :-)

Spectacular views! Amazing host, with the most yummy lemon drizzle cake. Eco facilities were excellent, even the compost toilet! The bed was sooooo comfy & cosy I didn’t want to move in the morning, but managed to pull myself out to watch the sunrise & make friends with the sheep. Only a 10 minute drive into Llanidloes, & 30 minutes to Hafren Forest which was stunning at this time of year. Will definitely be returning in the summer!

The cottage is very near to the main street in Llanidloes with easy access to the river and surrounding valleys. The kitchen has everything you need for a short stay. There is a washing machine and across the road a Launderette. The wi-fi is good and fairly strong upstairs too. Constant hot water on tap and the house felt cozy in May as well. There is a pub within 50 metres, a second 100 metres away :-)

An absolutely beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. Very comfortable and homely with everything you could possibly want or need. We were lucky enough to meet Lisa the owner who couldn't have been more helpful. Mid Wales is an overlooked area of Wales which has some stunning scenery and great walks. So stay in Llanidloes but more importantly stay in Dan Y Coed cottage!

Quality and style of the accommodation for the price was exceptional. The food was also excellent with good vegetarian and vegan options. Fridge in the room was also a nice addition with fresh milk or milk alternative provided. Quality toiletries in bathroom. Llanidloes is a lovely spot in the hills of mid Wales. Would like to come back someday.

Amazing experience at Ty Capel. Stunning rooms, lovely views, great service. Good breakfast. Close enough to Llanidloes to get to food within a ten minute drive but completely dark and peaceful at night. The visiting badger was an added bonus. Nothing to criticise at all.
