Brilliant location for access to the mountains, meadows and sea, with good view of the meadow. Very convenient by public transport.
Toilet Paper: The single toilet roll provided was consumed within the second day of the stay. For the sake of niceness, a second roll should be made available at all times so it is not necessary to request it. On the following morning (second morning, 3rd day), more toilet paper was requested (an activity that shouldn't be necessary) and first attempt to provide it was approximately 2 hours later. More than enough time to be entirely caught uncomfortably up the proverbial creek - there were no supplementary facilities elsewhere to make use of.
Towels: We showered when we arrived to remove the fatigue of travel, we showered in the morning on the first full day, then went out for the day and returned to the same wet/damp towels on our return. I understand now, that they provide towels on every second full day of the stay (I understand this only from inference, as the only time towels were replaced was on day 3), meaning we enjoyed two sets of towels during our five night stay. I would say this was around 4 sets short of comfortable.
I would also say, that if you don't intend to provide fresh towels each individual day then this should be advised to the guest so they are clear when and how fresh towels can be obtained or will be provided.
Soap: This is a holiday stay for hikers, mountain climbers and beach goers. Sweat will be exuded, salt will be gained and showers (with soap) will be required. Unfortuanately the soap provision fell short of the requirement. We had seen it fall to critically low levels on day 3 and hoped that after we left the house on day 4 this could be their chance to shine. Really sadly, this was missed during a perfunctory room service that left us with clean mugs for the first time in three days (!) I used the hand wash as bubble bath - I'd just walked 20 miles, I deserved it.
Offering a garden and garden view, Castle View Guest House is located in Harlech, 2.2 km from Harlech Beach and 13 km from Portmeirion.

Llanbedr is a charming stone village between Barmouth and Harlech. It's only small but there's three pubs and a shop. There are plenty of nearby walks and the riverside is very pretty, just under 2 miles from the village are the Nantcol waterfalls. It's a good base for exploring North and Mid Wales. There's Snowdonia, light railways, pretty coastal villages, Portmeirion, golf courses, a seemingly endless list of things to do in the area. The Victoria Inn is one of the best pubs in the country in my honest opinion, they have 5 rooms for guests and a good pub menu as well.

From the accommodation we went to Harlech beach and Harlech castle, to Snowden (by car), to Portmeirion (by train) and to the Rhaeadr Nantcol Waterfalls. An ideal balance between a cultural, beach and walking/hiking holidays.

As a location to get to the lakes, waterfalls, Roman steps it is ideal. It is isolated so if you want to really get away this is the place to go. It may be busier in the hotter weather months. The sheep welcome you in the morning grazing on the grass. There is a local shop that has almost everything you need. I really enjoyed the waterfalls, I went with my sons and we spent some tile wandering around the various waterfalls trying to find what fed them, we went deeper and deeper into the woods but could not find it. Getting around walking is the way as long as you don’t mind walking for miles and miles, we drove around the various single lane country lanes. The view of the lake between the two mountains when we got to the Roman steps was breathtaking. There was a road that had a signpost that said the sat nav will not work, this road takes you through the real mountain road, just be ready to drive up and down a very steep one lane road opening and closing gates with cars coming the other way. The very narrow road twists very sharply and has lots of blind bends where at least at two places all you can see is your car bonnet because the road is so steep. All in all a unique experience.

A lovely village but s bit of a traffic bottleneck.
A lovely village but s bit of a traffic bottleneck. The Victoria Inn had a large car park opposite which was great. There looked to be two more places in the village to stay. There was also a small shop and a cafe.

Nice village with 3 good pubs for food, nicely kept and not too big surroundings and scenery excellent and very good walking from the village of all types. birds were interesting plus wild flowers etc..nice location.
The property is in a really picturesque location with plenty of things to explore.
The host has provided a plethora of board games and books in addition to usual amenities to make sure that guest will have an enjoyable time if they wish to stay indoors.
They have even take great care to decorate kids room which children really enjoyed.
We really loved the visit to nearby town with its pebbles beach and lush hills overlooking the coast.
We were able to get an experience which we would not have got out of staying in a hotel.
I have wanted to stay here fr a long time, I love this part of wales and refer to it as my happy place, it’s a beautiful building filled with original architecture. Stunning garden at the rear of the property with a play area for children. The pub itself is very large and is furnished beautifully.
The bedrooms are finished to a high standard and very clean. The double bed was extremely comfortable and I slept better than I have in ages.
The evening meal and breakfast were superb with plenty to choose from.
Excellent location for exploring the coast around Barmouth and Harlech for local hill and woodland walks.
We used the train service from Llanbedr train station which was approximately half a mile down the road.
The property was very clean and well equipped with plenty of crockery and cutlery.
A very comfortable lounge diner after a long day out.
One room was small but all the beds and bedding were very comfortable.
Would definitely return.
the location of the property was very good local shop on the high street just across the road hotel/restaurants with in walking distance one just across the road from the property.
I would recommend you make a prebooking before going for a meal as most of the tables are reserved, we had the hunter's chicken at the Hafan Artro hotel just up the road from the property not too far to walk for a meal and a drink.
Lovely old house /hotel in beautiful peaceful area area outside of aberstwyth ..with free WiFi and parking , friendly helpful staff .
Great food and pub garden with benches and umbrellas .nice to see vegan options available ,the vegetable Penang curry was delicious.
Great comfort bed and fan provided in room .
Would definitely stay again and maybe check out some of the nearer beaches .
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt part of the family there! The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The meals were hot and very tasty and the rooms very comfortable and very clean. We could not ask for more and would definitely recommend to others. We had a wonderful weekend in Wales. Diolch everyone at Hafan Artro
Loved the apartment, really spacious and comfortable. Lots of great amenities in the apartment, perfect for us as a family, and the village of Llanbedr is lovely. Were able to drop off bags a little before check in time which was really helpful. Had a fabulous week.
Hotel set in lovely gardens with a reasonable car park. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. On arrival we were put in a small twin room when we booked a double. However, when I pointed this out, we were then given a double room which was much bigger.
Lovely breakfast served in your own lounge/dining room. Private parking. Riverside location. Friendly hosts. Very close to Llanbedr where there are several pubs/hotels supplying evening meals. Property is situated halfway between Harlech and Barmouth.
Great little place!
Very comfortable, everything we needed in the living area, bathroom and comfortable bed.
Well equipped kitchen, considering the size too so easy to cook, since you're too far out to walk into Llanbedr.
